Eighty Six Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in London

I’ve always seen this place and wanted to try. Me and my friend went to visit the place Sunday night. It was very quiet which was fine as it was getting late, we just wanted a few cocktails. Anyways asked for a Moscow Mule, the lady said she can’t make it as there’s no bartender.. we said okaayy so we order another one and she made it, was just very very sweet but nice couldn’t taste the alcohol. The lady came back when my friend was ready to order and said she can make the Moscow Mule, so I asked for one as well.. she said she only had one cup so I would have to wait for my friend to finish to get one.. so I said okay. I just ordered the same cocktail I had before. When my friends drink came it was nice just very sour and again couldn’t taste the alcohol. Anyways ordered some olives cause you can’t go wrong with olives.. but I’ve never tasted olives so nasty no flavour nothing. No thank you. Anyways we asked for the bill and it was time to go and it said £50 on the bill everything came up to £47 roughly and then service charge was £3 something. We was charged like £28 each basically, and we realised something wasn’t right we’ve been overcharged. The lady was doing something in the corner she probably heard us, as soon as we said excuse me and came over with some rose tequila shots and replied “I know” but my friend was the one speaking and the lady didn’t even let her finish so said tried again and said I think you’ve overcharged us.. and the lady said this receipt is the Correct one, there’s another one but we didn’t understand how that can’t be correct. So we just asked her to remove the service charge and she went back to the till for 10/15 mins came back with £10 and said she don’t have change which was fine. But I think that was very very cheeky. First of all you couldn’t make the drinks correctly and then you tried to overcharge us and sweeten us up with rose tequila rather than admitting you made an mistake and say sorry. Hands down this is the best restaurant in town! Thank you so much to the wonderful staff for helping me get this surprise baby shower together for my sister in law.

Throughout the whole planning they were so accommodating from reserving, giving us an amazing deal for a 2 course meal all the way into making us feel extremely comfortable on the day.

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a resturant who constantly goes above and beyond. I came in the resturant from 12pm to set up and the staff were so amazing, they were entertaining me while I was learning how to do the balloons and then offered me drink to make sure I was hydrated.

When guest arrived they made sure that the guest felt welcomed. The food was literally 10/10. Roast is a massive plate, honestly the roast is a must! I wish I didn’t live so far, I’ll be here every weekend, that’s how amazing this place is.

Thank you for being in on the plan. My brother lied that he was coming to the resturant for a photography shoot LOL and Eighty Six made it believable. THANK YOU! You guys are amazing, my sister in law was literally had no idea and it was such a success!

Booked a Christmas meal for myself and my staff here on the 16/12/23. Arrived and was given a table in a walk way for 4 when I booked 6, This table was absolutely ridiculously tiny and was being sold as more than what it can comfortably seat with 4 seats and stalls on the end of the table in the busy walk way.

To top it off ,we were not told at the time of booking that it would be in the bar area at the bottom nor were we given an option of area of seating. If I had known prior I would never have booked on that date knowing there was no option to sit elsewhere.

The only reason I booked this restaurant is after having a great time last year and that I could confidently take a team to have a meal, but it would seem I was wrong.

Be warned! Make sure you know where you are sitting if you book this restaurant and how big your table actually is.

In the end, I had to go to another local restaurant last minute and hope I could find a brilliant meal. Found one across the road much to my embarrassment.

Will never be returning to this...
