I regularly used to visit this branch, as it generally was the better of all branches and the staff were very inviting, some still are.
However, recently the branch has been detoriating, with the coffee tasting bitter the inerior becoming outdated, the atmosphere turning sour, and lack of love, care and compassion towards customer/s.
On my last three to four visits the coffee has got worse, and only today I had to ask for a refund as I was not willing to pay for the poor beverage I was served.
Normally I would just raise this with the branch manager but after raising a few points previously I got no real respective response back. Therefore, I'm using this platform to raise my concern about the products detoriation, and the poor atmosphere being meted out.
When I spoke to the youngish asian chinesse looking girl she said it was the air conditioning not working causing the coffee to become stale.
Unfortunately this branch has had a long standing issue with the air conditioning units and the owner needs to stop penny pinching and install updated equipment for staff and customers care.
Whilst I could simply use another coffee shop with many new small buisnesses rising locally who's coffee is equally if not better then Costa. In addtion to being cheaper varying from £2.70-£3.50, I believe in raising awareness in the hope standards improve.
I will now use a another local coffee shop which i really like the taste of as they give free cinamon powder too, and may pop in to see if there is improvements here in the future.
I was also verbally attacked at this branch, nearly turned physical for no apparent reason, whilst i defended my self as I do in all cases, it was dissapointing to see the staff did not ask about my welfare. There is no point displaying a heart on the wall as art if there is no functioning heart on the inside ā„ļø
Please never be afraid to ask for refund if the drink is not to taste or the air quality is stale, your hard earned money deserves it's quality in service and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love a Costa, but wow is the dark-haired girl who was working there Thursday morning (14th August) incapable of simple things to do with the job and will end up overcharging you.
I swiped my ābeansā from the Costa app in front of her..ALL I wanted was another shot of coffee as I was travelling far to Great Ormond Street Hospital that dayā¦and she kept telling me to do it āagainā and āagainā. From the unfriendly look on her face and manner I could tell she was in a mood..but Iām sorry we all work and have our stresses, handle yourself. Especially when youāre old enough (she looked about late 20s).
I ended up swapping 8 of my ābeansā as opposed to only 2 before I could get my free shot of coffee (a double was not only owed but needed after that ordeal) and she STILL tried charging me full price till I pointed out she hadnāt applied the discount! It really shouldnāt be that hard, if there werenāt 3 people waiting behind me I would have kicked up a bit of a fuss..but we all need our caffeine fix at the end of the day and it was only about Ā£2 wasted, she really wasnāt worth it. Whatās worse is the dirty look she gave me after I corrected her politely on the price (although my manners were wasted).
Iād rather wake up earlier and go to a Starbucks, worst customer service Iāve ever experienced in the 15+ years Iāve been going Costa. Iāve done a lot of customer faced roles and even when I was 18 I didnāt have such attitude and incapability.
Honestly Iād go elsewhere on a Thursday morning or youāll end up being overcharged, I canāt speak for the rest of the staff as it was just her I had bad...

The lunch that is over priced that leads to paying for a buffet worthless. A sandwich toasted cheese bread for £4.45 is a joke in itself. It's hot and cold air conditioner leaving you I'll and confused in the winter months. The expense of coffee and it's tempting taste gives you no joy. It's boost of caffeine will strike you slightly and do you little no more. It's quite sad to have so many of these places with no real life of food in it. It's staff are half and half who only feel and show you their emotions without a smile, confused by their ills of winters horrible breeze. It's no joy but an experience that...
