Costa Coffee — Restaurant in London

I am appalled and disgusted at the way in which I witnessed young black 6th formers being spoken to. I intervened in the managers attempt to throw out a group of young school attendants who had been sitting for some time following purchasing some refreshments. The owner accused them of just coming into the shop, and told them they needed to buy something or leave. I corrected him, that they had purchased something and had been there even before me. The group of children he was referring to was a different group who had just left. I amicably reminded him that all black people do not look the same. Had I not been there as a voice of reason for these young people they would have been forced out. I was shouted at across the shop floor by the manager "Why are you talking. You don't know nothing!" She proceeded to shout across the shop creating a scene, until I calmly beckoned her to speak to me at my table. She came over and proceeded to address the young children in a confrontational manner. Disregarding me. She referring to one of the children as ill-mannered suggesting she go and talk to her 'mum' like that. I demonstrated to the owner how her attitude was creating the situation and he proceeded to tell me I was aggravating the situation, despite nobody being loud or aggressive but himself and his staff. The fact that he condoned such a poor attitude from his staff towards customers is demonstrative of his own beliefs. As a teacher and adult in the community, I am disappointed and disheartened at the discrimination that these young people faced her today and can only imagine what their everyday entails. The inability of the owner to distinguish between one group of black children and another is shocking. I have never been asked to leave a Costa coffee shop, and should not have had to witnessed a group of young people who were not posing a threat, not being disruptive or anyway disrespectful, being asked to leave. I was so excited when Costa decided to open a new branch in my area. As a BIGGGGGG fan I did my own promotion of the stores new location and opening date with friend, family and neighbours. After a few time of visiting the store and receiving excellent service i move out of the area I visited onec after to have a catch up with family, I was surprisingly disappointed with the service and the quality of things that I had purchased but decided to turn a blind eye as this has never happened until today smh. When I walked in I stood waiting for someone to acknowledge me for at least 3-4 minutes after one of three said morning I waited a further 3 minutes to be served bearing in mind I was one of two customer I asked for hot chocolate with marshmellows and cream he made it with out the cream and when I corrected him he huffed and poured half out filled it with cream which made it overflow as there was marshmallows underneath then stuck a lid on top which made the side all dirty and just wipe with tissue paper which stuck to the sides and then changed me and exter pound for his messy art work £8.20 in total im so p-ed of because I just wanted to bring my son a treat in bed as its been a crazy few months. I should have brought chocolate marshmallows and cream and made it myself and I would have had change left over

The place wasn't clean there was a lot of missing around

The price of the products in the fridge is so crazy imagine paying almost 10 amount that cost of the product

The employees is very nice but in the same time they are not professional they keep talking and screaming with customers and trash talking as they were joking it may be normal and I understand the hood system but doing that why there is customers annoying them with your conversations is not professional at all

I spend their around 1 hour and I spend most of it trying to connect to the internet

There is not clear instructions or QR codes on walls

I think you guys missing employees to take care of the hall because even the sofa was very dirty like it never been cleaned before you need to take care of the place for me I'm not coming back to this location maybe I will try others and see how it goes

And we'll make sure to check other projects if the price is the same I think...
