Today I had the pleasure of dining at Dawat Palace, a newly opened restaurant in London, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere, which struck a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The décor is tastefully done, with attention to detail that creates an ambiance ideal for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Food Quality and Taste: A Culinary Delight
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. Dawat Palace offers a diverse menu featuring a wide array of traditional and contemporary dishes, but I decided to start my meal with the Chicken Pakora, followed by the Lamb Karahi. Both dishes were exceptional.
The Chicken Pakora was a fantastic way to begin the meal. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and encased in a crisp, golden batter that had just the right amount of spice. Each bite was a delightful blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the chef’s expertise in balancing subtlety with boldness.
The Lamb Karahi, however, was the star of the evening. The dish arrived sizzling hot, served in a traditional karahi, with generous chunks of succulent lamb cooked to perfection. The rich, aromatic gravy was infused with a complex mix of spices that were neither overpowering nor too mild. The depth of flavor in the dish was remarkable, with every bite offering a new discovery of spices and herbs that complemented the tender lamb beautifully. It was evident that great care had been taken in preparing this dish, and it stood out as one of the best Lamb Karahis I have had in London.
Service: Attentive and Professional
The service at Dawat Palace was nothing short of exemplary. From the moment I was seated, the staff were attentive, courteous, and highly professional. The servers were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was catered to with precision. The timing of the service was impeccable, with each course arriving at the table promptly, yet allowing enough time to savor each dish fully.
Ambiance: A Perfect Setting
The ambiance of Dawat Palace deserves special mention. The restaurant’s design combines modern elegance with traditional elements, creating a space that is both sophisticated and inviting. The lighting is soft and warm, enhancing the overall dining experience without being intrusive. Whether you are dining with family, friends, or on a romantic evening out, the setting at Dawat...
Read moreI only came here for naan and chutney. The naan seemed fairly priced compared to the others along the stretch. The naans were okay. All irregular shapes and different sizes and the order took forever! Wonder how long it would take as a diner. The decor was unique. Fairly new establishment. My biggest annoyance was the attempt to over charge me and of all things it was on the small plastic tubs if chutney. The boss wanted to charge me £9 for 6 small chutneys. I questioned him on this as it seemed a lot. He then came down to £6. Still a bit dear in my opinion. The tarmrind chutney was special and made from an array of ingredients apparently. It tasted good but nothing amazing. I dont like people being unfair and trying to make a quick buck out of something that's not warranted. You don't get business like this and this is a risky approach for a new fledgling establishment. The boss was.sat in some bench infornt of the till and was monitoring the front of house staffs every mive. They didn't look comfortable. There is more to this story but I don't want to ruin it for others or the business themselves. Check it out and see how it is. It would be unfair of my to comment on the food. All I can say is that the chutney was good ,the pakoreh were dry and hard to Swallow even with this chefs special imli chutney and the manager was a bit too eager to make a dime overlooking the importance of providing great service at a new restaurant. Risky approach.Good luck hope it all goes...
