Environment: Clean, tidy and Very vibrant. Staff: Lack customer service skills. Food presentation: Below Average. Quantity: Value for money.
Ordered 2 x Lahori Chana and 1 x Desi Chai.
Verdict: Lovely ambience, young students from Pakistan and India, enjoying cost effective food reminiscent of home.
The taste, not as vibrant as the name suggests, do not get me wrong, the Lahori chaney are nice however they are very standard in taste. Lightly seasoned, not got that final touch required to tingle your taste buds. These chaney, for me personally are the standard that you would get in many places in Pakistan, however could be so much better if a hint of garam masala coupled with freshly ground black pepper was added to the dish.
The rogni naan were very disappointing, initially when we received I was delighted with the look and the finish, upon delving into my first bite, I realised the flour used was either freshly kneeded or the wrong type as it was extremely stodgy and nowhere near the quality I would expect.
Positives.
Cleanliness and presentation of the shop is inviting and vibrant. The management and staff ensure the premises remains hygienically clean which is always nice.
However there is no type of service, you order at the till, you leave your table to ask for any additions you may need midst meal, no seasoning on tables, napkins and so forth.
Conclusion: I will visit again and try the haleem however for many, this will be a good experience. My taste buds are a little fussy so do try yourself.
Require Improving:
Staff service levels, there is no staff service, order at till, no reassurance to check all is OK, anything required, so forth.
Photos of cuisine:
Unfortunately because all is served in tinned containers and plastic plates, a photo is not possible as it would not...
Read moreNot one of my favourite experiences. I was there around 10am for a breakfast. For what it is, I do admire the place in some ways. Lots of variety, the prices are very reasonable and it is an open well lit place with a decent amount of seating. However, the food is mostly warm and serve. Noodles, kebabs, rice and currys were all in the display fridge. For people who are looking for a reasonable takeaway, it is fine. I also want to point out their chicken biryani and nan's were fresh as I saw them being brought out from the kitchen. The biryani was in its own large pot ready for sale. The place was busy even for a Tuesday morning. But my experience didn't leave me with a desire to return. I found the service very lacking. I was not given a menu or asked to order, I had to approach the counter myself. I then stood there for another 4 to 5 mins waiting for someone to take my order. The gentleman standing in front of me was not doing anything but was pointedly ignoring me, this made me feel unwelcome. I finally ordered a Kulcha nan and channa to check what the taste would be like. I have no desire to eat refrigerated kebabs or microwave heated currys. My order took 25 mims to arrive and the taste was just ok, the Channa was clearly microwaved and the Nan was freshly made but it was a little chewy and tough. We were given only paper plates and the channa was given to us in a takeaway container even though we were eating in. Overall I was not impressed with the service and the food is just ok. Hence I think this place will suit many people who are looking for this type of food and experience. I was looking for a nice breakfast/brunch experience with table service and this...
Read moreAfter hearing rave reviews about "Khatta Meetha," I finally had the opportunity to dine there, and I must say, it lived up to its reputation! The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, with friendly staff that made me feel right at home.
As a person who cherishes the flavors of Pakistan, I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the food at Khatta Meetha. Each dish brought back fond memories of my time in Pakistan, as the flavors were spot on and reminded me of home. The menu boasted a wide range of dishes, and the chef's expertise was evident in every bite.
The standout dish for me was the aromatic chicken briyani, a rich and spicy dish that had me savoring every mouthful. It was evident that the chefs at Khatta Meetha take pride in their craft, as the attention to detail in the preparation was evident in every dish.
Overall, "Khatta Meetha" is a gem in Hounslow West for anyone seeking authentic Pakistani cuisine. If you have a love for traditional flavors or simply want to explore the rich tapestry of Pakistan's culinary delights, this is the place to be. I left the restaurant with a contented heart and a satisfied palate, eagerly looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended!
