I am always on the hunt for a high quality halal breakfast place. Just so fed up of over priced, sub standard menus that just don't hit the spot. Until I found De Cafe Lounge on Barking Road. It is near the old West Ham Football Ground and walking distance from Upton Park Station. Plenty of parking nearby, free and paid.

You are welcomed by friendly staff, a nice clean premises, large tv screen and lots of breakfast options. You can get lamb donner in your breakfast plate, yes you read it correctly, LAMB DONNER. It is sooo tasty, you will love this place.

The tea seemed to have a sprinkle of safron on it, it tasted so nice, I orders another one. I never have two couples of tea back to back. The owner Imran is a lovely chap, knows his food and understands customer service.

While I am writting this post, I have decided I am going to go there for breakfast...

Fab food. Cannot complain. But boy it got wiped away with bad customer service. We were 4 of us. The guy served us, looked cannot be bothered and almost gave us look and service that he was giving us food for free. £41 spent and yet he never spoke to us with a smile. Asked for water, he gave us 2 glass of water for 4 people and asked again and he brought 1 glass more and gave a look that we are as kind for too much. Why wouldn’t you bring 4 glasses of water at once? It almost killed our mood as the food was really good. He looked really unhappy despite we were trying to talk him down politely.we went with really good mood but he repeatedly gave bad customer service. Honestly if cannot be bothered please stay behind the kitchen and let someone friendly takeover. This is our local cafe and almost feel I cannot go there again yet I loved the food. Shocking...

Worst restaurant ever, when I ordered foods the guy on the till answered me rudely and when I tried to speak to him about it quietly and he came up to me saying are you looking for trouble I don't even know why this happened but he started getting so aggressive and trying to have a fight with me for no reason. Then another man came who was meant to calm the situation he tried to explain his colleague rude behaviour and after talking for about 20 seconds he didn't even try to listen and I could see it from the beginning that he did not want to listen, he suddenly grabbed my arm and threatened me saying that it is better for me if I sit down now, then I obviously asked for refund because I did not want the food no more they rejected my request and start swearing and shouting at me saying stuff like f* sit down before...

Ordered breakfast. They did not give the tea. Asked 2 times. Still the tea didn’t come. We finished the breakfast and then told the guy what’s the point of giving tea now. We have finished the food. He insisted on giving the tea but what was the point. We had finished the tea. He apologised and I had to ask for bottle of water as substitute which I would have expected him to offer. He just gave one bottle of water in return for 3 cups of tea. I told him to give another 2 and also offered to pay for it. He didn’t take the money. But very bad service with food. Needs to come out on time with the tea. The guy was polite but it’s not good enough as our breakfast was ruined.

Before you go to this place to eat 4 shops down, there is a Tesco. I would advise you to go to Tesco and get yourself a sandwich, then eating this rubbish that these people are serving. But if you decide to go still, go to Tesco and buy yourself a bottle of Eno. as this will help you with your stomach upset. This place is serving the lowest quality food you can ever imagine. avoid at all cost. I don’t know how this place is still opened, but it won’t be very long until it shuts down.
