Nice mosque with a very good senior and experienced imam who has really good recitation and a beautiful voice, I just wish he pronounced the letter ض more clearly and properly especially at the end of surah fatihah in وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ
The other issue which has been going on for many years now is that he and the second imam do not speak/translate in English when giving talks, reading hadith or even making any important announcements - they do it in the Urdu language, people that don't understand Urdu feel left out and have to constantly ask others what did the imam just announce. The mosque committee should ensure all announcements are also done in English not only Urdu, this is very important, brothers feel unwelcome and left out if this continues to carry on. The plus side is that they have some talks/lectures in English on the weekends and also jummua khutbah in English at 2pm every Fridays in the summer time and 1:15 pm in the winter time.
An important thing I have noticed is that many people do not stand close to each other when praying in jamaat they always leave a big gap, they should at least join shoulder to shoulder, when I try to stand close to someone in this category (shoulder to shoulder and feet to feet) they get angry and move away during the jamaat prayer leaving a big gap of at least half a meter gesturing for me to stay away from them. The imam always mentions at the beginning of the prayer to stand close to each other but people are stubborn they don't listen they disregard the imam and more importantly the hadith.
The wudhu facilities are ok but many times the place is out of tissues to dry oneself (although they do have electric hand driers) this is important especially for drying the feet because when people enter the mosque the drops of water that fall from them causes a damp smell in the carpets and to be honest the carpets definitely do need some deep cleaning or changing. Update about the carpet (August 2024) they have changed the carpets in all the prayer halls of the mosque. They are very good quality expensive carpets I believe imported from turkey. However people are still coming on to the new carpet from the wudhu area after doing wudhu with wet feet, arms and face and all the drops of water are going on to the new carpet, Also people are coming in to the mosque with very dirty socks they do not even care about making the carpet dirty or that people have to put there face on the ground in sajdah !!! The masjid should put posters telling people to come in to the masjid with clean socks and to make sure they dry themselves properly especially their feet before entering...
