Devons Cafe — Restaurant in London

Typical cafe, nothing super amazing but the only one in the area. Makes a regular stop for workers locally both on the construction sites, local shops and businesses. It gets busy at lunch time. Would love to see a deli style or fresh sandwich, pasta salad section added as nothing like that available locally. Be great for those that don't have time to sit and eat daily like myself. Takeaway is good option though, and you can call in or drop by and let then know what and when you'll be in for it etc. Staff...

Been meaning to try this cafe for quite a while, now having done so I realise I should have done so earlier. Basic on inside not flashy or posey. It's a "what you see is what you get" type of place. Menu choice wide enough, service efficient and friendly. No criticism of the food, bacon well done and not fatty, mushrooms tasty and enjoyable. Never mind the 4 star this merits 4 and half. Really expensive for what was essentially a very basic fry up.

The "Mega breakfast" at £7.80 consisted of 2 small, cheap, mainly rusk sausages, 2 bacon, 2 overcooked eggs, fried slice and beans. Toast and coffee were an extra 2 quid.

The food wasn't unpleasant, but for the thick end of a tenner, I expected much better quality. I would expect to pay that money in the West End cafés, not an East London greasy...
