My love for this Pub began 5 years ago during the pandemic (and how they still remained open doing incredible food for takeaway and takeaway beers!). The food is exceptional, particularly on Sundays and offers great options for vegans and can adapt for any dietary requirements - eg gluten free. I had a fantastic birthday afternoon tea here, which the chef Michael made vegan and gluten free so my family could enjoy. The Sunday carvery is great as you can select your own vegetables and is high quality. The mushroom Wellington is a particular highlight. The section of beers, which have new options almost every week are great - particularly love the inclusion of Galway and the pale ales on offer. My mum enjoyed the gluten free Panama that was on tap and the selection of ciders. The Belgian beers, with their unique glasses are great and an awesome way to try something you can’t easily find! It is very dog friendly that it’s lovely to see so many when you come in. Daisy - the pub dog is a lovey highlight! I’m a particular fan of the World of Whisky and the inclusion of Penderyn - there’s also a great Swedish Whisky too and I’m slowly making my way round the world each time. The Drag Brunch is brilliant - loved the food, bottomless option and the performer That Girl was so much fun! Loved that we could bring a dog to this too. On the Rooms - the rooms are all unique, but generously sized and the furniture is really well done. The bed was comfortable and I liked the provision of a blanket and heater just in case - but the temperature was great. Despite being in a populated area, it is quiet at night with limited disturbance. The coffee machine in the room is a nice touch. The venue is really easy to get to from the DLR, Bus or Bromley-By-Bow or Mile End stations, and is really good for getting to Stratford for a bus to Stansted airport or the ABBA Voyage. There’s really something for everyone here - from the Open Mic, to the Carvery, to the Drag Brunch, to the Pub Quiz, to the Karaoke Nights, to the ability to bring in a laptop and get some work done in a more relaxed environment. The staff are a particular highlight - all very lovely, welcoming and want to help if you have a question or need to ask queries about adapting anything on a dish.

Mixed Feelings at a Conveniently Located Pub Hotel My family's recent stay at a well-situated pub hotel offered both highlights and disappointments. The location was perfect, especially as I live nearby, making it a convenient choice for their visit. The pub itself is charming, and the anticipation built up from reading positive reviews had us looking forward to an affordable, enjoyable stay. However, our experience was marred by several hygiene issues. The most concerning was the condition of the bedsheets, which were neither fresh nor clean, evident from the presence of hair and stains. This lapse in cleanliness was particularly distressing as my mother, who fell ill and spent a day in the hotel, encountered these issues firsthand. Furthermore, the cleaning service seemed inadequate; despite the cleaner's visit, there was no noticeable vacuuming, and the toilet's hygiene left much to be desired. A bin overflowing with used period products indicated a lack of attention, especially since we were the only guests over the weekend. Under-bed discoveries of dust, a forgotten shoe, and wigs hinted at a deeper neglect in cleaning standards. While the room decor was both nice and original, these hygienic oversights dampened our overall impression. Another downside was the breakfast experience. The fruits were good, but the biscuits didn't sound fresh, and we were expecting more choice like to go downstairs in the pub and eat a proper breakfast, and the lack of chairs in one of the bedrooms meant we had to eat on the bed, which was inconvenient and uncomfortable. In summary, while the pub hotel boasts an excellent location and appealing aesthetics, the hygiene issues and breakfast setup significantly detracted from our experience.

What a brilliant time I had at their bottomless brunch! For £39.95 you get 2 HOURS UNLIMITED PROSECCO and a huge variety of choices from their menu - What a great deal indeed! The staff were super friendly and always made sure we were topped up - exactly what you want at a bottomless brunch 😜 only criticism I had is when we ordered the steak sandwich, we were expecting a sub roll but it was served on just bread which was underwhelming. The crowd was vibing too and we made so many new friends and everyone was SUPER friendly! @thatgirldrag was amazing and had such a wonderful voice. I loved how energetic she was and really engaged the crowd. Had so much fun playing the bingo, and of course I won 😜 Again, the people there were incredible, so I shared my winnings with them 🤣 Definitely a must visit if you’re in Bow📍

My husband and I booked 2 nights here initially. |Our room was a good size but it was dark and dingy, cold and dirty! There was a used cotton bud on the window sill, window sills were dirty, the small table provided for coffee and tea etc had obviously not been wiped from previous guests as stained. Toilet and bathroom facilities were also unclean. |The room itself was very cold when we arrived but we hoped that maybe the heating would be switched on later in the evening. However, this was not the case and after returning from an evening out it was still very cold and we had to keep our coats on to stay warm. My husband tried to turn the radiator on but there was no control on it to do so! |It was meant to be a non-smoking room which is what we booked, but it smelt of stale smoke.|We both had an awful night sleep as the mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. The duvet cover looked awful and had not even been ironed! |As if things couldn’t get any worse, in the morning when we went to have a shower there was no hot water!! So we had to have a very quick freezing cold shower. |After all this we decided that we were not going to spend another night at this awful place so checked out. When we explained some of the reasons we were offered no apology but were told that there must have been a problem with the boiler and we should have let them know about the water at the time. Not so easy to do when you’re stood in the shower, no access to the pub to speak to anyone and no phone in room!! Also told that we could have turned radiator in room on but it had no control!! We asked for a refund for the night we would not be staying there but this was refused which is appalling under the circumstances. |Overall, disgusting place and disgusting customer service. |Do...
