As you walk into the restaurant, the grill/kitchen is on the right and seating areas to the left. The toilets are located straight ahead and down a steep staircase (not sure if there are any toilets for wheelchair uses). The toilets were clean but the first 2 toilets I went in had no toilet roll left. I visited Devran with 5 other people on a Saturday evening and it was quite busy. The atmosphere was lively. The restaurant was bright and seemed fairly clean and tidy considering how busy it was. I ordered the Lamb Ribs (£19.50) and it was very nicely seasoned, it also came with rice or chips, I had the rice (it was okay, fluffy and slightly moist). There were also complimentary pitta bread served which were very tasty as well as they were smothered with the seasoning from the meat which gave it a nice meaty smokey flavour. One of our party members had the Grilled Sea Bass (£18.00) in which they really liked and would recommend, and I will try that next time. The customer service was a slight let down as we had to wait a while for the food and the staff kept forgetting to bring our drinks to the table. Also, I feel they came across quite irritated and miserable so that wasn't pleasant to experience, hence only 4 stars. In conclusion, a nice place to eat with reasonable portion sizes, delicious and at reasonable prices. I would recommend visiting if you can.

Devran review My partner and I were in the area and opted to eat at this place as we’ve heard about it from friends before. Entrance - Very easy to find, big sign on the main road. Welcoming. Food - They had a lunchtime menu on, starter and main for £11.50 which we thought was a bargain only the choice of starters in my opinion were very poor. The starters are basically the free salad you would get with your main meal. I wish there was meat options for the starter as little bowls of salad isn’t great. The mains were lovely, we ordered lamb donor, it came with rice and more salad. Chilli sauce too. Cooked from fresh very tasty and filling. Drinks - we ordered two cocoa-colas with a slice of lemon and they were lovely! Decor - Absolutely beautiful! It was very modern and the plates matched the decor which was nice. Atmosphere - it wasn’t busy as it was early but still a nice atmosphere overall. Cleanliness - Very clean and tidy, including the toilets could not fault it. Cost - £33 in total which is an absolute bargain!! Customer service - Everyone was nice, friendly & attentive. Anything we needed was done within minutes, great staff! Overall - 10/10 - the food was great, the drinks were great and the staff were even better!! I look forward to returning, thank you!

We went to Azizye in fact however their grill closes at 9:30 ( not advertised so please watch out) had made the journey and hungry we thought we should try Devran. Pleasant surprise it was as good as Azizye and food was amazing. Giving four stars and not five because their closing time was near so service was rushed and we were constantly reminded whilst we were eating. However decor and ambiance of the place was good Food was absolutely awesome. Their deserts that we tried were good as well. Warm starters well you have got to eat them to really know how good they are especially spring rolls and calamari. Not Chewy at all and soft however fully cooked. Lamb shank was one of the best I have had again it was coming off the bone as we ate. Mix grill was nice as well Overall it was excellent food. I certainly would recommend and will come here again.

What has happened to Devran?

Once my go to place for turkish food, as I did not want to travel to Green Lane (Haringey) for mouthwatering turkish dishes now, a shadow of itself. The food was great and the service was attentive, personal and genuinely caring. I use to look forward to going and always being greeted by a gentleman called Mohammed who would spare a few minutes to say hello was lovely.

My visit last night was far from what I had expected. We had arrived with a large group mostly consisting of children following a day out. We were all tired and hungry and wanted to have a nice meal to end a fab day. Upon arrival we recieved a very frosty reception, we noticed there were no seating available to accommodate the group although a minor adjustment would have been enough to cater for us. However, it seemed they did not really want us there and failed to pay any attention to us until finally a waiter came over and said that they could not put the tables together. We asked whether we could sit in the back which was visible empty but was told that it was closed? It's a Saturday evening at 20:30! Why would you have sections of the restaurant closed? Surely it is your busiest night of the week.

I explained that we would not be sitting separately and would be going elsewhere, sadly, they did not seem to bothered. We got up, left and went to Azziziya which was amazing.

What is most sad is that I have been a loyal customer at Devran Stoke Newington for many many years. I was absolutely disgusted by their behaviour and will not be returning.

You may not want my money, but carry on and you will lose more customers. You are a dime a dozen, there are plenty more great...

I wish that i could give them -5 stars, terrible way to run a business, we were served bulgar wheat that was frozen and defrosted - it tasted really bad and when we complained, they told us that there was nothing wrong with the bulgar, after going back and forth one of the younger employee came over and admitted that the bulgar we were served wasn't fresh and he apologised, we ordered a £40 flatter which was laced with bulgar - they expected us to ignore that bad smell and just focus on our meat, clearly this is against health and safety and for the fact that the meat made contact with the gone off bulgar, that is enough contamination for food poisoning.

We refused to pay for the food, they called the manager and he said that we have to pay, he offered us chips to compensate for the gone off bulgar.

We refused, he got angry and shouted that we have to pay and deal with it.

We refused again, then they offered us 10% off our meal.

At this point, i was getting agitated, i told them to bring the bill and i will be crossing off the platter and pay for everything else.

They agreed to remove the platter off the meal, but instead of apologising, the manager barred us from his restaurant.

The staff looked dirty, the lady that served us was rude and her white shirt had turned grey.

Stay away from this restaurant, they care more about making money than...
