I’m 24 years old and my mum and I have been coming here for literally my entire life. I came a few months ago and was shocked and disgusted to see they’d cut the lahmacun size down by half and still increased the price a little bit for it. I ended up telling them to take it back and that I wouldn’t be paying for that. It was disgusting and entirely disrespectful to sell such a small lahmacun and for an increased price. On this occasion they also gave me a barely lukewarm mantar where the cheese wasn’t even melted. I had to send it back to be heated properly. That visit was on Eid in April. Now I went with my mum yesterday, she had not been since what I assume is new management has taken over and I did warn her to be disappointed, however, not even I could predict how bad it would be. I don’t know who’s in charge now but let me tell you one thing, every aspect of this place has gone entirely downhill from service, prices, quality of food and ambience. To begin with, they said they were short-staffed so we had to sit upstairs which in my entire life has never happened. I am not shocked they were short-staffed which has also NEVER happened at this location before, they usually have several waiters but I assume the staff got sick of bearing the brunt of consistent new complaints and I’m sure from the experience I had from what I presume is the new manager/owner that the staff were miserable working under him as he himself is entirely miserable in every way. Additionally, from the price gouging and I do mean over double increase for some items so when I say gouging I mean an intense increase, it is clear he only cares about money and not the customers experience, good service, nor a healthy work environment. To clarify, last night we only ordered Turkish tea, mantar and chips. It took well over 45 minutes for the mantar and the chips to come. Chips takes mere minutes. There is only a few tables at the top, it was not busy, it was very manageable and yet 45+ minutes for chips is madness. They also didn’t even give the bread basket until the food arrived, the bread should’ve been given once seated and would have tied us over through the long wait. In fact they should’ve offered complimentary side with the bread due to the bad service and complimentary tea to try to rectify the horrible experience. To make it worse, they had the window wide open, leaving a big window open after dark is the most ignorant mistake in a restaurant, everyone knows to close windows and doors after the sunsets to prevent an onslaught of flies. We were killing flies every minute, to the point where we had a collection of dead flies on the table that we had to push to the side. It was horrible. The manager and staff were miserable, unhelpful, never checked how things were, never apologised for the wait, we had to ask for the bill 3x and they never once brought it to us, it got to the point where we said we should have just walked out and not paid but as Muslims we couldn’t do it no matter how much they deserved it. Then when we went to pay, it was just under £20 for mantar, chips, and a Turkish tea. first of all, to charge 1.50 for one very small cup of tea is beyond greedy and unheard of. To make matters worse, they had increased the mantar price by almost 3x the original cost. £14 for mantar! A cheese and mushroom dish!! Then £3 for chips, the chips is also another thing they’ve decreased the portion size of by the way. I cannot emphasise how bad in every possible way the dining experience and new management is. They do not deserve any business at this point and need to be shut down. It’s also very sad for loyal customers such as myself and my mum who have now lost a very sentimental restaurant and dining experience as we both agreed we would absolutely never be returning together nor with any of our friends who we also have come with...

Absolutely atrocious. As we first entered the premise I was met with a rude waiter. When we asked for the booth. He said they were all reserved although they were all empty. He didn't clarify when they were booked for.
He showed us to a small table near the exit. The table was so small it was difficult to even fit all our plates and dishes.
The rude waiter asked us to use a baby chair and wheeled our pushchair away into another room.
The baby chair was unsafe and unstable so I went to retrieve our pushchair and used it instead of their flimsy baby chair.
When we wanted to order, or ask for anything or pay the bill, there was no one to ask. We would have to wait ridiculous long time before the waiters came and the restaurant was relatively quiet.
Food: 4/10
Mixed Grill: 3/10 the Mixed Grill cost ~£20 and tbh it was mediocre at best. Nothing special at all. Hilal mixed grill taste soo much better. The rice was atrocious. Flavourless. My 14 year old nephew can cook better. Maybe the chef was having a bad day.
Meat Chicken and Sausage Pide: 7/10 This was the best dish on the table. No complaints here. It was tasty. It cost £13.50. a reasonable price item and well worth the purchase.
Et Sote: 1/10 £12. It is supposed to be meat in tomato sauce with rice and vegetables cooked in a soil pot. Avoid. Just tomato water with salt. The meat was dry and frank hard to swallow. I actually can't believe what they're selling.
Chips:7/10 Normal chips. Quite good. But rice came with the Et Sote and the Mixed grill. When I asked if they could swap a rice for chips as we have two rice they refused even though it was the same price. So had to pay £3 for chips
Kunefe: 3/10 £7.50 the dish was very small and not very flavourful.
Turkish Tea: 7/10 £1.50 Nice cup of Turkish Tea.
Soft Drinks: £2.25 each 1/10 kinda of expensive for a can of Pepsi and Fanta.
Welfare Facilities: 8/10 They have wash room and toilets and the Masjid is not far either if you need to go for wudu.
Cleaniness:7/10 relatively clean
Overall: 1/10
Ultimately the tone, demeanor and attitude of the staff was very rude. The food was a big disappointment. The sitting arrangement was very bad. And we left completely...
Read moreI once visited with a friend about a year ago and had a great experience. Went there again with 10 friends last Saturday, Ramadan for Iftaar. Made sure I reserve the floor seating on the right over the phone. My call was picked up by someone who after taking the number of people couldn't understand what seating I wanted and put the phone down sayiong 'I don no what u sayin'.
On reaching there, we were given a table for 10 in the large empty banguet hall to the left which felt like a hospital canteen. There was just ONE waiter for the whole hall! He didnt get our dates for iftaar. Didnt know what Dates meant even after I pointed to him on the next table. Had to getup and walk and physically touch the neighbours plate to tell him what a date is! No water was bought until the very end and we had to quench our thirst with bloody Lassi.
He said we are too late to order any soup/gravy dishes so couldnt order any. The meat and kebaabs were the driest Ive ever had like they were reheated. He was under so much pressure, serving 8 tables on his own, he couldn't even get our orders right and agreed in the end that he had stopped jotting them down on the peace of paper he had earlier.
The loacl turkish clientale were getting better service. We were Asian but don't know if that had a part to play. Overall the bill was £20 per head which they did not deserve at all. I would have enjoyed food at a oily chicken shop more than over here.
I was considering walking out with my guests in the beginning when we arrived but time for iftaar was close. I wish we would have still left only if we knew that we are about to have the worlds worst dinning experience.
All in all, the most terrible experience in my whole life and they knew it too. We got up without any desserts. Never asked me how everything was when it was time to pay the bill and acted like they were busy. I tend to stay quiet when i am unhappy as it usually ends terribly. I am a keen restaurant goer and this has been by far the worst experience in my life. Never going...
