I visited Doc Espresso on two occasions now and both times it has been a let down.
On my 2nd visit I watched the gentleman Batrista make my latte and it was a disaster. Everything was wrong. He started grinding the coffee in the portafilter without any preset programming on the volume of coffee grind or weighing it. He just looked at it switched it off when he thought he had enough. After he tamped the ground he put portafilter in the espresso machine and just switched on hot water manually and switched it off manually. Again no preset measurement. Very poor practice you can easily put to little or to much water drastically changing the taste of coffee.
Now the worst part of the process. Proves what a joke this establishment is. He proceeded in using the same milk he had heated for the customer a few minutes before for my latte. The milk was flat with lots of bubbles.
Unfortunately th dont care in Dr Espresso on giving a good cup of coffee. There is steps on how to make a good coffee just like there is when you cook a meal and follow the recipe. Here everything was cutting corners. The name implies you will be served a gourmet coffee here but it was worse than a Starbucks.
Absolute waste of money if you visit Doctor Espresso. Unfortunately Google doesn't have the option for...
ย ย ย Read moreThe middle aged woman took my order of a cup of coffee and a croissant. She said I would have to wait ten minutes for the croissant to be ready. I waited almost twenty minutes before I approached another member of staff behind the counter to ask about what had happened to my order. The woman who took my order appeared behind the counter and said to the staff 'She knows that she needs to wait for the croissant.' This was rude, since she was standing in front of me but did not acknowledge me and spoke to the young man as if I was not there. I was the only customer in the shop at the time. I waited a further ten minutes for a croissant to finally arrive.
When I went to the counter to pay, the middle aged woman was there but refused to serve me as she deliberately looked at here phone. I stood at the counter for over two minutes until a young man appeared to whom I settled my bill and left. I had had a cup of coffee a week prior to this unpleasant incidence where a disturbed man came into the shop asked for food. The same middle aged woman came up to this man and shouted 'Get out of my shop!' Don't spend your money in this cafe run by an ill-mannered, ill-educated individual. Much better service can be found at Cafe Nunu, River Cafe and Dr Espresso Caffetteria opposite Putney...
