As a chef hailing from the southern part of India ,Kongunadu region called Salem, my quest for an authentic South Indian breakfast experience led me to Dosa Kada, and it was nothing short of a culinary journey that left me thoroughly satisfied.
The ambiance at Dosa Kada is a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary, creating an inviting atmosphere for patrons. The aroma of freshly ground spices and the sizzle of dosas on the griddle immediately transported me back to the kitchens of my hometown.
What sets Dosa Kada apart is their commitment to authenticity. The menu boasts a variety of dosas, each crafted with precision and using high-quality ingredients. The dosas were not only thin and crispy but also filled with a delightful medley of flavors that paid homage to the rich culinary heritage of South India.
The staff at Dosa Kada deserves a special mention for their warm hospitality. They were attentive and knowledgeable, helping me navigate through the menu and recommending some hidden gems. It’s evident that the team takes pride in presenting the true essence of South Indian breakfast.
One standout combo was Mini Tiffin which contains 1medu vada which was very crispy on & soft in it,1 idli that was like malligai poo (we use to say in back home , which means it so soft & white in colour) small amount of Pongal it melts in your mouth !! 1 mini masala dosa & Accompanied by an array of chutneys and sambar, each bite was a symphony of tastes that brought back memories of home-cooked meals.last but not least a spoon of kesari(sweet).
I tried their filter coffee which includes in their mini Tiffin combo , and it was a revelation. The strong, aromatic brew was served in a platter with glass of coffee with 2 Parle G biscuits which gives a memories of a childhood .
In conclusion, Dosa Kada is a haven for South Indian breakfast enthusiasts, and as a chef, I appreciate the dedication to preserving the true flavors of the region. If you’re seeking an authentic and delightful start to your day, Dosa Kada is undoubtedly a top choice. My culinary journey through their menu was a memorable one, and I look forward to revisiting this gem of...
Read moreVery worst experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ordered via their 'Dosa Kada' app and was given a 2 hour delivery window. Even called the restaurant immediately and requested to deliver as soon as possible since we were very hungry. Called again after nearly 2 hours and was told that the driver has collected the order and will be with us shortly. funny thing is we stay nearby and was confident that we will get the delivery asap. Fast forward another 30 min and we are still waiting!! called the restaurant several times and was ringing out but finally someone answered nearly around 11pm and assured that he will speak to the driver and call back but no, he never called. We called back again just to be told by someone with a very throwback attitude that their driver supposedly delivered our order somewhere and since their kitchen is closed, they cant do anything about it now and assured they will deliver my order tomorrow!!!!. To the guy who gave me this reply, I hope you get this lovely experience from some other place where you wait for more than 2 hours for your order just to be given such a response!!! I am amazed how their delivery driver can mix up the delivery but if its true, i really hope someone had a hearty dinner. I cant believe what i was hearing at this point and asked for a refund since i realised it is my fault for ordering from this place and t moral of my experience: Please don't order from this place and if you ever do, make sure you are good at fasting since it will take you next 10 days to get your delivery!! Message to the management - Please find a driver who can deliver the order correctly and manage operations to make sure customer gets their food at least late...
Read moreI recently visited Dosa Kada Croydon and I was very impressed with the food. I ordered the cheese masala dosa, which is a thin pancake made from fermented rice and lentil batter, filled with spiced potatoes and cheese. It was served with a variety of chutneys and sambar, and it was absolutely delicious. The dosa was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the filling was flavorful and gooey. I also tried the sambar vada, which is a lentil fritter served in a lentil soup. It was also very good, and it was a nice way to start my meal. The podi dosa is a dosa topped with a spicy powder made from lentils, spices, and herbs. It was also very flavorful, and it had a nice kick to it. The nethili fish fry is a crispy fried fish dish that is served with a tangy sauce. It was also very good, and it was a nice change of pace from the other dishes I tried. The paneer 65 is a spicy and crispy dish made with paneer (cottage cheese). It was also very good, and it was a nice way to end my meal.
The service at Dosa Kada was also excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they were happy to answer my questions about the menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and it was not too noisy or too quiet. The value for money was also very good. The prices were reasonable, and I felt like I got a lot of food for my money.
Overall, I had a very positive experience at Dosa Kada Croydon. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic South Indian meal."
