ZERO STARS...😕 Well where do I begin. My Mom & I came here in Nov 2016 and it was so amazing!! Greeted with friendly service and the food and ambiance were awesome! So, that brings us to today. We are back in Wandsworth from America, we stay here at the same Airbnb everytime we come. We were so very excited to go back and experience the pub. After long travel and little sleep, we freshened up, and walked to the pub for some well-deserved hot Fish & chips. Well, that did not happen. From the first to the last server there were literally zero smiles or welcoming hellos to be had. We had to ask about seating, we were told to "sit anywhere there is not a book". We had to get our own menu and even call over the servers after sitting for 15 full minutes with no, water, no service, nothing. We finally, against our intuition, ordered a drink a piece. He then proceeded to walk away with our menu. After watching servers walk past our table for 45 minutes, we left and went to Sainsburys for take away food. We told the stale girl with the nose ring that we waited and that we needed our bill and she got an attitude with us. Unfortunately, our memory of the warm, friendly pub with the amazing food is ruined. We will NOT be back. Maybe we weren't local enough, we still wonder what the problem could have been. We felt hurt by it really. Off to a new pub for...
Read moreWent in for a Sunday roast and I was left disappointed by the service we received. After being sat down and seen for drinks, it took 10mins to give us a bottle of cider and a pint of flat coke zero. 10 more mins pass and we still haven't been seen to by our waiter regarding the food, so we try and get his attention, but he never once looks at us (i.e. make eye contact) for the next 10 mins; however, we can see him going around taking other table orders. Having waited 20 mins since our drinks, we decided to order through the young's app instead. Food arrived 20 mins later (50 mins now since we sat down at our table).
The food itself was average and for the price (£20.50 for the beef roast and £19.50 for the pork roast) we were let down. Speaking of price, we were charged £6.70 for a bottle of old mout cider, which equates to £7.50 for a pint of cider.
Whilst the decor of the place was nice and the front of house staff seemed warm and welcoming, we were let down by service and the food given the prices charged. We will not be...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our visit overall — the Sunday roast was absolutely delicious and the pub had a lovely atmosphere! We came as a big group of friends with newborns and a toddler, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating when we arrived.
The only downside was the service after our meals were served — we weren’t offered any more drinks, our plates weren’t cleared for over an hour, and we weren’t asked about puddings. We were then told we needed to leave the table within 15 minutes, even though our plates were still there. It was a shame, as we’d happily have ordered more drinks and puddings (we were particularly looking forward to the crumble!).
Overall, a great spot with excellent food — just let down a little by the after-meal service on...
