Eastern Paradise — Restaurant in London

This is the second time we've ordered from here. The other time was probably a year ago and we hadn't had a great experience then too. I actually thought it was another restaurant we had a bad experience but after yesterday's shenanigans it came flashing back that it was Eastern Paradise.

We ordered at 7:07pm. Called at 8:10 they said the driver was on his way (we only live a 6 minutes drive away). After 10 mins at 8:20, called back, driver was apparently still on his way, the restaurant couldnt give us the drivers number (because now we know there was no driver delivering our food yet). The guy on the phone said we'd definitely get our food in the next 10 mins. My husband was really angry with their lies at this point so I called again after a 15 minute wait at 8:35.

The restaurant owner made up some excuse that the driver who was delivering to another place was waiting for the customer to get cash out. Believing them, I asked them why they could be honest about this when we called nearly half an hour.

Anyway slowly forwarding to when we got our actual food at 9:00pm!!! Driver said he left the restaurant 15 mins ago with our food, so EVERYTHING that was mentioned in the numerous phone calls was a lie.

Don't order from here, unless you want your food two hours after ordering. Much better...

Not sure how this takeaway got good reviews. Our order arrived late and all the curries were swimming in oil. I understand that certain curries require oil, but this was literally ridiculous. Chicken in the curry was hard and the curry had far too much salt in it. The pakoras tasted stale and the batter was soft and cold, the sheehk kebab was dry and grissly, the meat samosa’s were ok but lacked any flavour and much was the same with the rest of the meal. Quality of food was alright, everything was throughly cooked. I am not sure of the reason why my food took so long to get to me, but it wasn't pipping hot when it arrived. The chicken korma was alright, not as sweet as other restaurants. I could not tell the difference in appearance of the korma and butter chicken. Butter chicken did not taste that great, very dull and bland. Chapati came in a plastic bag all squashed up. It's deffo edible but...
