I've visited Turkey a number of times and regularly eat Turkish food all around London - so I feel I'm informed enough to say that the food at EaTurkish is pretty damn good. So if that's all you want to know, you can stop reading now.
Personally, I'm big on service as well, when I visit any place where I'm spending money and the service at EaTurkish, well hmm, mixed bag at best is all I can say.
I've visited twice, once midweek just after work, and the service was great. I then visited Saturday eve, there were maybe 5 or 6 people there and the service was frankly a bit of a joke. I'll give you my experience, you make up your own mind.
I turned up, ordered, sat down to wait. Seemed easy enough. I had an Uber waiting for me, was told a couple of minutes for what I ordered, but I noticed that the Halloumi I ordered wasn't put on the grill which would at least take a couple of minutes too. Ok, maybe they have some ready already. Said nothing.
A lady then arrived after me, ordered and asked if she could pay with her card. Now as it's 2017 I never thought to ask such a question - she was told no, it's cash only and pointed at a TINY sign on the till. Now, my annoyance is, as cash only is odd these days, why not tell EVERY customer "hey, did you know we're cash only" when they order, I would have got to the till to pay and then been stuck.
So, when I heard, I asked where the nearest cash machine was, I was told "turn right, it's about 3 mins"... well there are about a half dozen places it could have been when turning right, so that advice was about 50% helpful, if you're gonna force the customer to go find actual money, then why not say "sure, it's about 3 mins walk, the cash machine is just outside before you get to the BP station on the main road" which would have been some proper direction.
Told the Uber to go (this was clearly going to take longer and it wasn't worth a moody Uber driver too) and wandered down the road to get the cash, 10 minutes later (it's at least a 5 min walk) - food was ready - oh - wait, no it wasn't - where was the Halloumi? - sat back down to wait. Few minutes more. Order ready. Finally food!
I had ordered Lahmacun. Now anyone who knows what this is knows ANYWHERE you buy it it comes with a side salad because, well, you eat it with a side salad. I'm looking at a take-away Pizza box, a little foil box with my Halloumi..."hey, um, is there no salad with the Lahmacun?"... nope - this is the only Turkish in London (that I know of) that sells Lahmacun without salad - huh? :o/ (for the record, this is like buying a Kebab and you have to pay extra for the salad in it).
I paid for it. I was too invested, too hungry and already been there 20 minutes.
2 Lahmacun, salad... Halloumi. £11.
Added a photo of my meal. I'll leave you to decide, how good was the service, and was what I got worth £11. I know...
Read moreUnlike the reviews for places in Istanbul, THESE are actually authentic and well deserved. From the food, to the decor, to the staff/owners, everything is well measured and excellent.
I have ordered around 25 times (location is not so close to where i live), and bar 2 occasions where they were super busy and may have forgotten something (later very apologetic and they looked after us), this place IS A DIAMOND, not just in the rough, but in comparison to other top places (Capital/Hala etc which are restaurants mainly).
Do not let the location of the shop (very nice outside and in and CLEAN) and size (boutique-like) underwhelm you without trying what they offer. The food is very well priced for what it is, with fresh bread made on the spot usually and provided with your meal.
You will not be disappointed, and like me, if you like your food authentic, cooked perfectly without fatty/cheap bits and without being drenched in oil and salt (not to mention peculiar smells), then this is the place to come for sure.
You deserve the success that you reap, and more, especially when you provide high quality food and customer care at this level, for a business in an industry that is often mediocre and that usually provides run-of-the-mill frozen kebabs, worthy only for the nightcrawlers!
EXCITED for your new store in CATFORD opening soon! Thanks again team. Keep up the...

Service is not scored higher merely because this is primarily a takeaway but if you're lucky you'll find a couple of seats where you can eat in.
The main thing is, of course, the food, and in terms of quality and value, it's excellent. Four of us shared the Family Meal, consisting of a mix of lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb doner, chicken doner, and lamb kofte, two large chips, salads and a bottle of soft drink. The kebabs were very tasty, well cooked, and the chicken doner in particular was not too oily.
As a meal advertised for a family of 5 it maybe could do with a little more so that everyone really gets to try every variety, but that's being picky and in the end four guys with big appetites all left satisfied for around £45. We were given plenty of freshly baked home-made bread (which was literally prepared in front of customers by a very skilful and industrious lady), which even eaten on its own with the salads and sauces was a tasty and filling part of the meal such that none of us left hungry.
Will definitely look to return soon and try the pide or lahmacun, which you don't...
