English & Continental — Restaurant in London

Not really pleased with this cafe anymore. Used to be a lovely joyful place to go and have some decent food. But I went there in the past week or so. The lady who served me was really kind and friendly. But felt uncomfortable with the staff behind the counter constantly watching me while I ate and when I did eat the food was cold. I even watched them get pre cooked food from a tray, put it all on a plate and stick it in the microwave. On numerous occasions when. I have had the chance to visit this cafe I have watched the staff put beans in a measuring jug, put the jug in the microwave and not clean out the jug. They just put it on top of the microwave. This lovely caff is just as friendly and the food as reliably tasty as it was when I used to come here as a teenager in the 80s. Portions are generous and well-pruced - anything you can think of in a panini, on a baked potato, in an omelette or just with chips.
