If you do not like spicy foods, do NOT come here. They refuse to NOT put spice in their food.
Our relation booked out the room downstairs for his birthday. When the waiter came, we spoke in depth about not putting ANY pepper in mine and my children’s food. He agreed and ensured there would be none. My food came and I instantly could see pepper in the stew. I told him straight away and his tone changed. Now it was “so you can’t even handle a little spice?” Long story short, he took the food, brought jollof rice which was still peppery but my children couldn’t eat. Thankfully I had fed them before we came as I had feeling this would happen. The waiter never apologised once and at one point was making jest of some people not handling pepper. We expressed our disappointment and he became passive aggressive from there on. He had been told to bring the birthday cake with lit candles but he came in and dumped the cake with us. I’ve never seen this done ANYWHERE. Why would we give you the cake in the first place? We can light candles on our own. We challenged the staff about this and another member apologised on his behalf. He almost ruined the day - ALMOST. He claimed that there were no restaurants that accommodated non spicy foods and I corrected him that 805 does.
The food is peppery and there are no two ways about it. Some of our friends who like spicy food couldn’t finish their food and one had two spoons and was in dire need of the toilet. Another relation who demanded no spice was given the scraps of leftover fried rice but was still made to pay full price.
And the waiter basically admitted that the food is not cooked fresh! He said that the stew is pre-made.
Toilets are FILTHY, chapman drink is sour and this was my first and last time at this...
Read moreVisited last Saturday for a low key birthday dinner. We initially went to the Old Kent Road branch but we were shocked when we informed that we could eat in except we opted for the Buffet which was £40 per head. I feel this should have been written someone on their google page or website. Well, we ended coming back to the Camberwell branch which was even near home. The Location is a prime one...close to walworth, elephant, old kent , camberwell. Parking might be an issue on week days but evenings and weekends should be fine with off road street parking. Check before parking....Southwark Parking Officers are Kings in this business.
As expected, the internal space of the restaurant was CLEAN...and CALM. The food took 45mins🕤 from order to delivery. We ordered for suya. It was good but had a feeling that makes you know it was microwaved for you...not fresh. Unfortunately, our suya portion had a massive bone and a hardrock burnt meat piece.🤦 I complianed to the manager but all she could do was apologize. I expected a replacement of the 2 pieces of meat or some form of compensation.
The main dish of poundo yam and eforiro was on point....another dish of amala and abula was also on point. I personally and my daughter couldn't finish our portion of poundo and eforiro....and that makes me wonder....what's the point of a buffet for Nigeria meals. 💁 In general, I'm happy Enish is near me for occasional drop in s. The experence was a good one and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to munch alone or with a...
Read moreWe visited the Camberwell branch yesterday evening. The staff that were, there were not really welcoming or friendly at all. When somebody finally came over, I asked if I could have a cup of hot water as I was feeling slightly dizzy. I was told that they don’t serve hot drinks and they’re unable to serve hot water. What they can do is get bottled water, run it under the hot water tap and give that to me. Which I personally found that to be diabolical, as I just explained that I wasn’t feeling well. There was no compassion at all.
The young lady that served us was quite dismissive, didn’t seem to have much care, and even when she spoke to her colleagues, they seem to be the same.
We still went ahead and ordered as this Resturant was recommended to us. Funny enough, we live in Purley, so we should’ve just gone to the South Croydon one
Since dining here, I have had food poisoning and I have been sick for the whole entire day. As soon as I finished my meal, and got home I was practically vomiting and I have been sick all of today . I don’t know what ingredients didn’t agree with me, I ordered pepper, soup, pounded, yam and goat with vegetables . We spent £122!
I suggest that the Chef/manager or somebody does a sample food check on all of the food I have just mentioned because it has made me incredibly sick. My partner did not order the same thing as me, and he is absolutely fine. I will add.
All in all, it’s probably my worst dining experience in 20 years. I will not...
