Tasty African Food Camberwell — Restaurant in London

I recently bought a fish pie and a portion of puff puff and I must say they were very tasty, I especially enjoyed the puff puff, because it was freshly prepared. I also liked the pastry, it had a nice thick crust and the fish filling was tasty. On a bad note, the customer service wasn't good, for a small cafe, I had wait a considerable amount of time to be served. One assistant was casually on the phone whilst the other seemed rushed off her feet.

On a separate occasion I ordered jeloff rice, and "meat stew". The Jeloff rice was good, but not all that because the rice was a bit on the mushy side. The worst was the "meat stew" which actually turned out to be more of a dry fried piece of meat with no stew. Can you also believe that this so called meat stew was only one small piece of beef. I was so disappointed as I was looking forward to eating the rice with the stew. I also made this order on deliveroo, where everything is a lot more expensive, so I was left very dissatisfied and...

African Leftovers. Jollof had no flavour. Beef was sooo dry and chewy, it looked like it was cooked weeks ago. The Smoked Turkey was wings nice, they didn't smoke them so that's probably why. The cooked meats are kept at room temperature🤢🤮 and reheated in a microwave, my meat was heated for 60 seconds and it was ice cold inside. Obviously you are not meant to reheat cooked food over and over, especially meat but I guess the staff are not aware of what food poisoning is. The customer service was awful, I had to beg for a fork and was told "it's just a bowl of food" Had to beg for sauce for the dry meat.

I asked for my food to be delivered cold so I could reheat it at home, but instead, it arrived frozen solid. This wasn’t a simple misunderstanding, the food was fully cooked, then frozen, and completely inedible on arrival with zero stew. It’s outrageous for a takeaway to deliver frozen meals without telling the customer.

On top of that, the portion sizes didn’t match the descriptions at all. What I received was nowhere near what was advertised.

I’ve reported this to the food authorities because this isn’t just poor service, it’s a food safety concern. I won’t be ordering from here again, and I’d advise others to be cautious.
