For Father’s Day, our family decided to celebrate at Feather and Heart. Unfortunately, our experience was far from the pleasant meal we had anticipated.
To begin with, we waited an excruciating hour for our food. This would have been somewhat bearable if the staff had kept us informed or if we had seen a steady stream of meals being served. Instead, we watched as other diners, who arrived after us, received their orders while we sat waiting.
When our food finally arrived, the quality was shockingly poor. I was served a burnt sausage that was nearly inedible. I promptly informed our waiter and asked for a replacement. He assured me that he would bring a new one, but this promise went unfulfilled. No replacement arrived, and no explanation was given.
Throughout our long wait and our attempts to get our order corrected, nobody updated us on the status of our meal. The lack of communication was frustrating and made us feel ignored. It became apparent that they had likely missed our order entirely, which only added to our frustration.
Adding insult to injury, the waiter who served us was extremely unprofessional. He scowled, avoided eye contact, and did not speak to us unless absolutely necessary. His demeanor made us feel unwelcome and added to the overall negative experience.
In the end, we left the restaurant unnoticed. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of our poor experience, and no effort to rectify the situation.
We will not be returning to Feather and Heart. A special day that was supposed to be filled with joy and good food turned into a disappointing experience. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works to improve both their service and food quality for...
Read moreLast year, this place had a 2-star food hygiene rating. Now it has a 3-star rating. You can check it online on the Food Standards Agency website. It seems like they still can’t get it quite right.
They also appear to use part of the toilet area as storage — maybe that’s part of the issue. A lot of their pastries taste like they’ve been sitting out too long and have been reheated more times than they should be. That said, some other items are good.
The staff’s behaviour is hit and miss. Sometimes the same person will be quite nice, and other times they come across as a bit rude, giving the impression that the work environment is quite volatile.
I used to go here fairly often because, for a while, it was the only café in the area, and some of my friends liked it. However, one day I sat down with an espresso, and after about 10 minutes, a waitress came over and said something like: 'Hi, if you’d like to stay, could you order something else?' I said, 'No, I’m happy with this.'
She came back 5 minutes later and told me that just having an espresso wasn’t enough to sit at a table, and that they’d like to keep the table free in case someone else came in. So, I left. Luckily, a few new places opened in the area so I don't go...
Read moreFeather & Heart in Brentford, England is a delightful cafe that serves up some of the most delicious breakfast dishes you'll ever taste. I recently visited and had the pleasure of trying their Brioche French Toast, which was simply divine. The presentation was beautiful, with the toast arranged in a pretty stack, topped with fresh fruit and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. The texture was perfect - crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The flavors were also spot-on, with the perfect balance of sweetness and a subtle hint of vanilla.
In addition to the French Toast, I also tried their Shakshouka, which was an excellent dish. The eggs were cooked to perfection, with a soft, runny yolk that was just waiting to be soaked up by the tangy tomato sauce. The spices in the Shakshouka were well balanced and added just the right amount of heat to the dish.
The overall atmosphere of the cafe was lovely and cozy, with a warm and welcoming ambiance.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Feather & Heart for anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast experience. Whether you're in the mood for sweet and indulgent French Toast or a savory and satisfying Shakshouka, this cafe has got...
