Update for the response: never said I wasn't expecting smaller potion. I wasn't expecting 30g. A simple pasta with oil and cheese. Not complicated to prepare. Yet you can see my child and our reaction when we tried it. Fair re the tomato sauce. But then don't say yes and present a pasta with no sauce, just colored bucatini. Fair that your customers usually come with high chair customers along, but clearly ours were not, so at least warn about the size of pasta. And same for the quantity of cheese and sauce, warn that that dish is meant for toddlers in mind, so, perhaps, your 8 and 7 years old might want more of those ingredients? Then I am sorry for those customers who spend £9 for 30g of pasta with a hint of cheese and sauce .
Regards and thanks for the reply.
As per "You've been warned" is for other people who'd come and might have similar requests.
As an Italian, but even if I wasn't, the experience was really underwhelming to say the least. We arrived at 7pm, so early, on their 1st year they'd been open and when we were ready to order there were already a few dishes sold out. Out of an already small selection (which usually is a good thing.) Ok, we asked for our kids (7 and 8) and we were told they made pasta for them: oil and cheese or cheese. Nothing else. They had to check the kitchen for a simple pasta with tomato sauce. I mean, it's an Italian restaurant! Anyway we ordered one oil and cheese and one tomato sauce. What arrived were maybe 30g of pasta with a tiny bit of oil and crumbles of cheese and the pasta with tomato sauce was with no sauce, the amount of sauce was barely enough to "paint" the pasta (bucatini, for kids). None of them were happy. I just asked them and said "schifo". One left it the other one ate it as she was starving.
Price for that £9. Nine pounds. We asked to remove them as it was ridiculous and came back with a 15% discount, I think it was like £2.50. I got upset and asked to fully remove them given what the ask was (£18) compared with what we've got. They removed one and discounted the other.
Grown up food was tasteless and wine was of the kind with screw on lid.
A red alert was when they asked for our credit card when we had booked for 7pm at 6pm! I mean..you should be lucky you filled a table for 7 with us, 1hr before, and yet you'd be happy to charge us if we didn't show up, within the hour
Clearly after the money, more than after the customer. I understand the money, but at least treat us as people. This is Brentford, not Central London where you've got new people coming in regularly. Here we're locals.
Nevertheless, we won't be back.

Read morerecently had the pleasure of dining at Rotura in Brentford, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The food was tasty and delicious, living up to the expectations of authentic Italian cuisine with a modern fine dining twist. The presentation was superb, with beautifully plated dishes and aesthetically pleasing table settings. The glasses and plates were particularly striking, adding a touch of elegance to the meal.
Service-wise, it was a bit slow at times, but the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of despite the occasional wait. Given that it was during their soft launch, I was impressed with the reasonable prices, thanks to the opening discount. This made the experience even more enjoyable.
I had the opportunity to sample a variety of items from their menu. While most of the dishes were excellent, I was a bit disappointed with the artichoke crisps. They were too oily and the portion size was quite small and my palette was not entertained by it. Additionally, some menu items were unavailable during my visit, which was a minor letdown. The Tiramisu was Excellent! Perfect😋
The restaurant itself has a lot of potential. Currently, it feels a bit too white, empty, and clinical. I hope they add more decoration and character to give the space a bit more soul and warmth.
Overall, Rotura is a promising new spot in Brentford with delicious food and beautiful presentation. I’m looking forward to seeing how they evolve and improve in the coming months. Definitely worth a visit and I will...
Read moreOutstanding is a perfect word for Rottura. We were welcomed and not rushed by two friendly ladies. The menu had a sharing concept with large and small plates. There was a good selection of vegetarian and meat/fish dishes. We shared one of each small plates to start with. The burrata and beetroot salad was fresh and creamy. The tender-stem broccolli had a light crispy batter and a smooth aioli paired with it. The favourite amongst our guests, was the chargrilled octopus with the red pepper sauce. It was so delicious that we ordered some bread so that we could mop up the sauce. But when the foccacia bread came out literally steaming fresh from the oven, there were gasps around the table as the pillowy soft wedges were devoured. For the mains we shared, mushroom risotto, prawn spaghettini, hispi cabbage and salmon with vegetables. Everyone loved the prawn spaghettini the most, followed closely behind by the mushroom risotto. Lastly we had the tiramisu which was just like nonna makes. I would highly recommend this new family run restaurant. It has a lot of heart and soul and you leave with a full and satisfied belly. Our wallets were also satisfied with reasonably priced dishes. Approx £35 per head including wine. The only feedback we would give is that the lighting should be dimmed/softer for evening service, as it felt more canteen like rather than cosy restaurant. However that was a minor factor and did not impact our overall enjoyment and...
