Fish n Flame Restaurant — Restaurant in London

Dropped off our daughter nearby and looked for somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening … Fish n Flame sounded good for two pescatarians and the food on the website looked good too … popped into the takeaway side at first then back out and into the restaurant… it was quiet at 8pm, we were the only diners… but we hadn’t eaten out for a few months so we’re looking forward to it. The service was polite and friendly.

I had the fish goujon burger which came with salad and chips and mushy peas and a sauce on the side … delicious.

My partner ordered the salmon and out came sea bass … so it was offered at the same price with apology or we could have waited … we snapped it up and it was large and beautiful looking when it came out.

I had a cappuccino after, no decaf so I’ll probably sleep even worse than the last few nights since the horrific events in Israel and Gaza

Partner opted for a ginger green tea …

The venue is clean and smart enough, pretty even with its hint of soft orange brightening up the sophisticated greys

Poseidon? An insult to the God of the Sea. Lovely signage, looks clean. However the food was the worst Fish and Chips you can imagine. Old oil, chips were certainly not fresh could have been a bad day but inedible stale dry and shrivelled. The fish batter is not crispy it’s soggy and you can see where the batter is burnt black. So much grease pouring all over the packaging had to leave it after a mouthful. I’ve worked in fish and chip shops so I know the ingredients at Poseidon are low quality and having eaten at many good and bad chippies, this was the worst. And the price is outrageous for what it is. I did call to mention they sort it out from a chefs perspective, I had no interest in compensation. I was told, “you are wrong it’s fresh and all our customers give us good feedback.” Whatever guys. You seem to think highly of yourselves 1 star for your confidence. Gross..Bin. For your tastebuds sake,...

I'm adding to my old review. Now Aug 2025. I got a large Cod and chips to take out.

Once home, it was still piping hot and the chips were also hot and perfect. The fish was incredible. It literally broke away in large flakes perfectly cooked in thin crispy batter. I have to say it was the nicest cod I have had in thirty years. Much better than anywhere nearby. Much better than anywhere I have tried in North London. We wolfed it down as I was sharing it with the Missus. It's not cheap these days but this was the nicest takeaway fish and chips I've had in a long time.

I have had an "eat-in" Fish and Chips several times, mostly during the afternoon. I was usually the only diner so the service was incredibly fast. The Cod was crisply battered, succulent and flaky and the chips were near to perfection.

Never had a bone in my fish and the staff are attentive and very pleasant.
