I have been to many off your stores numerous times especially the store in Wimbledon and Putney. I usually always order the same thing a flat white and a almond croissant. Today, I visited the store in Wandsworth Old Town and what I received was not up to the standard that I normally receive. The croissant was soggy almost damp underneath. I’m no baking expert, but croissants aren’t meant to be soggy, which means they are undercooked / proof ( I assume). I spoke to the manager and told her it was soggy. I got back attitude and a response of “They are all like that. They just came out the oven”. Which was not the response I was looking for. No apology. Just handed another one, which was worse and inedible. I expected to be refunded. Disappointing. Plenty of other places I can go for a coffee and croissant.

Disappointed (14/01/23 at 11am). Such a shame as it looks cute on the outside. 1) tables were dirty and had crumbs everywhere. I sat down and someone else’s crumbs from the table fell on my trousers! Gross. 2) the plate that my food was served on was dirty, see photo, brown stains on the plate. 3) the almond chocolate croissant my guest had was soggy and just embarrassing. 4) Coffee bad (please try lavazza, illy or kimbo to improve the taste). I definitely do NOT recommend this place.

I had a chance to try two of their baked goods as 'take away' recently. Spinach-feta roll was divine, so recommended! In tahini-chocolate bite, tahini part felt a bit missing. The staff was lovely and helpful as they took the time to list the ingredients to me: if you're reading this, thanks a lot for your time! Overall, such a lovely place. Wish they open some stores outside of London in the UK as well.

Hey Gail's! I hope you don't remember the review that I posted some months ago... it wasn't particularly flamboyant, insightful or well written, I did have some grievances about your drink selection, covid set up and staff in general, maybe the grey weather got to me... I am happy to write today about Gail's, now one of my favourite London spots with a general appreciation and warmth. Despite my first visit to this particular store, I have since returned many times to grab a coffee, resist the beautiful pastry selection and I even ordered an enormous bag of pastries for Christmas morning which kicked our unusual 2020 Crimbo off in style! I can happily report that Gail's in general, and this store is no exception, is a delight to visit, the ambience, the products, the staff and the general ethos tick all the boxes for me... I would write more but I'm hankering after a coffee of and I'm desperate to try the potato and rosemary bread so laptop shut, shoes...

I had a really awful experience the other week at this Gail’s. For medical reasons I am avoiding dairy. The barista made my coffee and after a sip of it I was pretty sure it was made with dairy milk, so I asked her if it was oat milk. She said yes, and I asked her again are you sure. I wasn’t trying to be antagonistic - I genuinely wanted to know due to the health reasons mentioned. She then took my coffee back, quite aggressively threw it down the drain in front of me and then made another one, all the while telling me off in front of the other customers there and my children from questioning her. It was horrible, intimidating and has made me really cautious to go back to...
