Had the most shocking experience at Gokyuzu in Park Royal today. Ordered two portions of the long minced chicken (chicken kofte), something I’ve had many times before, including at this restaurant. My friend took a bite, and it turned out to be raw chicken. Absolutely disgusting and dangerous. I went to talk to the manager, Samad. Instead of listening, he started yelling at me, saying the chicken wasn’t raw and that’s how it’s supposed to be. He was super close and aggressive, making me really uncomfortable. No one should be talked to like that, especially a female customer.

Then another staff member (the one with a lot of lip filler) got herself involved , claiming it was just seasoning and tomato sauce. I’m not stupid – I know what raw chicken looks like. To make it worse, another lady asked why I was talking for my friend, since she was the one who experienced eating the raw chicken, saying my friend should speak for herself. How unprofessional! Just because my friend ate raw chicken doesn’t mean she has to argue about it. It’s got nothing to do with her if my friends’ speaking or not. You can’t tell a customer what to do. No replacement food, no refund, nothing. We had to pay the full bill even though we were totally disgusted and couldn’t eat anything at the end. We spent over half an hour arguing about whether the chicken was raw (since they claimed it wasn’t). Even the customers that witnessed what happened at the table next to us agreed the staff were rude, especially the females. And they also agreed that the chicken was raw!!! Avoid Gokyuzu in Park Royal at all costs. The staff are rude, dismissive, and apparently okay with serving raw chicken. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. I will even attach the pictures of the raw chicken that apparently isn’t raw or what she said is...

I’ve visited this restaurant a few times, and unfortunately, the service is consistently disappointing. Some of the waiters and manager make you feel uncomfortable - they come across as judgmental and often speak about customers in their own language, which feels unprofessional. Staff rush customers through their meals to make room for new ones. It feels like a conveyor belt - as soon as you’re done eating, they’re practically ushering you out to turn over the table. It’s very off-putting and makes the whole experience feel transactional rather than welcoming.

On my most recent visit, we were seated in an area with a noticeable fly infestation. It was really unpleasant trying to eat while constantly swatting flies away, which made it extremely difficult to enjoy our meal. When I asked the waiter about it, they admitted the restaurant was aware of the issue and trying to fix it. That’s completely unacceptable. If a restaurant knows it has a serious hygiene issue like that, it should close until it’s resolved. I eventually had to ask to be moved outside just to finish eating in peace.

The food itself is usually good, the other branches are excellent but the uncomfortable atmosphere in this brach and lack of proper service make it hard to enjoy. I always add the service charge out of principle, but here, I honestly don’t feel they deserve it. After several visits with the same kind of treatment, I’ll be considering whether to return, but only if I see clear improvements in service and...

A massive thank you to Rojda!!! You spotted me outside with 2 upset children - One wanted to come in, and one did not... My youngest is Autistic and finds food difficult which makes eating out a nightmare. Rojda came out to see if she could help and when I explained the issue with my youngest, she told me he could pick up the food he wants next door and bring it in!!! Problem solved, everyone is a winner!!! Rojda then sat us in a booth in the corner as you walk in, so when my youngest came back with his food he would not get over stimulated by the people and noise.

I can not stress how much this means to us, as a family of an autistic child. Usually their dad and I have to spilt up so each child can eat what they want without any issues... To be able to eat out, together, in the same place does not happen often!!! Rojda, thank you for your kindness, patience, understanding and accommodating his needs.

My eldest and I have already been a few times here, and love it... And I have to say the restaurant is beautiful, has an amazing vibe and the food is scummy every time. Today we both enjoyed Lahmacun with mocktails. Their dad had a breakfast.

On previous visits we have tried a few of their different pides and breakfasts. And we have already picked what we are all trying next time we come... Grill!!!

Rojda, I will be singing your praise and recommending Gokyuzu Restaurant. Great venue, beautiful decor, amazing atmosphere, delicious food, exceptional service.

See you next...

Visited for the first time and was really impressed with the decor and design of the restaurant. It was impeccably clean and there were plenty of staff to accommodate a busy afternoon/early evening rush. The food was not only delicious it was flavourful and fresh. Our only disappointment was the speed of service, we felt as though we’d only just placed our order before receiving the complementary bread, salad and dressing. Not even having had the complementary dish for 5 mins our main course arrived. We felt extremely rushed to eat and it was as though they wanted customers in and out of the restaurant to seat more patrons. Plates were being cleared from our table yet we weren’t finished with them. What should have had a relaxing meal and a treat night out was just rushed from the moment we arrived to leaving. On leaving ended up having a tummy ache due to being rushed to eat. Was the most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had dining out. The staff whilst warm and friendly were overly attentive and they need to allow guests to come sit and relax and take a few minutes between courses. Would I be back? For the food yes, but ONLY if the speed of service was addressed. We noted other customers arrive and received their complementary dish and their main within 10 minutes again they weren’t even finished eating being the exact same service we received. So this is clearly a speed driven by management. Please address this!

I’ve only ever heard good things about Gokyuzu and me and a friend decided to have dinner here. We tried to get a walk in table on the weekend and it was so full they said the wait would have been an hour and a half so I definitely recommend booking! Our starters came incredibly fast, we had the falafel and hellim (two very popular starters) and both were hot and fresh. The falafel was crispy with a fluffy interior, seasoned well. The hellim was grilled perfectly and served with a fig jam (paired really well with the salty hellim). The pide and lahmacun came at the same time as the kleftiko. The lahmacun is made with beef, well seasoned and light. The pide was piping hot, crispy, loaded with cheese and sujuk on every slice. The kleftiko was fall off the bone tender, full of flavour and the mash was seasoned well too. Everything on the mixed grill platter for two was grilled to perfection and very savoury. My highlights were the lamb ribs but I would note that they were pretty small (not sure if this is because it was the platter). This platter is massive, could easily feed 3 or even 4. The kunafe was flaky and not too sweet. Paired with that rich cream will make you feel like having a nap after (totally worth it). The service was very quick, the staff were attentive and didn’t feel overbearing. I would and will 100% be returning!
