Golden Plaice — Restaurant in London

Better than alot of other fish & chips shops, though they can be quiet pricey. £4+ for 2 pieces of chicken & chips meal. Hence I'm not giving it the full 5 stars because of it. However, their chilli sauce is very good.

If you have a vehicle, there's parking available directly outside free in the evenings though so maybe it's worth travelling to. Update 17th January 2023 I changed my review from 4 stars to 2. I went in today, ordered chicken burger meal, which is now priced at £7.50, I was shocked and commented to the guy at the til, because it's disproportionately much more expensive than it was not long ago, and there are places closer to Central London like Haringey or even Islington that will NOT charge this much, let alone KFC for Chicken Burger meals. I'm shocked by this. They justify the increase in price due to inflation of prices to goods, but its more like an excuse to justify charging extortionate amounts. Other places do NOT charge or will NOT charge £7.50 for a simple...

At lunchtime you would expect them to actually have some chips ready - instead had to wait while they cooked them. 10 mins waiting - for a simple bag of chips. Not even a queue. Heat racks mainly empty, no production line. It should be 60 seconds in and out. Not organised. And then got home, the chips were not even cooked properly. ...

Great fish and chips. The batter on their cod is nice and crispy.

The staff are extremely friendly. You can expect a 10-15 minute wait if the food is still in the fryer, but then you will get it nice and fresh.
