Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in London

Tried the haddock and it was delicious! Fresh, good size fillet with really crispy batter and the chips were really good, too. I also ordered some nuggets for my daughter and she approved of them, as well. The shop doesn't limit itself to haddock, only. Apart from the cod, scampi etc... They offer chicken, ribs and various sausages. There is also a choice of butties and kids menu, too.

The staff were quite busy at the time, yet I was acknowledged and served quickly. One thing that you don't see often these days is the relationship between patrons and staff. This was my first visit here, but for the 10 minutes I spent in, I realised that many of the other visitors were regulars and you could hear them cracking a joke or two with the guys and gals behind the counter.

Although expensive for the area, portion sizes have been shrinking, and the quality has also dropped off recently. The previous team was much better than the current one. There have been errors with my orders; the portions are smaller, and the quality isn’t as good. I used to be a regular, but now I don’t bother. The chips are thick but undercooked, rotisserie chicken is very good, and fish is usually crispy, but recently, they have been over-fried. Lived on this road for years and never went in until today. I left pleasantly surprised as the staff was very friendly, I was left with an impression that they are proud and really like their workplace. The thing which stood out to me was the cleanliness in the shop which was to a high standard. The chicken burger was spot on just perfect. Chips were good too but the portion was huge and i dont like throwing food away but i had a moment of nostalgia when i seen these chunky chips wrapped in paper. Overall 10/10 for this hidden...
