The coffee is of great taste, I loved dropping by every time I was in London. So if you are into specialty coffee this is the place to go. But if you are concerned about the biggest challenge of our era, climate change, and you want to ask questions, at least for now not the place to come. They have had the brilliant idea of producing goods from used cups, but when I asked about the challenges they faced producing some of these goods given the crazy price of the notebooks (£16 and over £20, when you can get one from recycled materials at stationary shops for less than £10) the response was beyond disappointing. Talking over, and so defensive. I am deeply sorry if my questions triggered the staff, it was never my intention to make anyone feel bad, I was just willing to have a chat on the subject and learn a bit more as I do in every store I visit. You have lost me as a customer as I struggle to keep a commercial relationship w/businesses that do not share my values. But I would like to make one final suggestion if I may. If you sell stuff labelled as ‘sustainable’, share the message with your staff for everyone to be prepared to answer questions, otherwise it would look like greenwashing. Also, the ability to have a chat without getting rude seems key for business success, assess training options. You have a good product,...
Read moreregular customers opinion here Apologies for the bold announcement, but I thought it worth prefacing the review this way because I would only write the following - glowing - review for somewhere I’d thoroughly vetted, and enjoyed many times. Gramos has so much to recommend it, that I’m going to have to be brief to cover it. The coffee is excellent. That’s a first point. As someone who takes sugar in every single coffee, I enjoy coming here and knowing that I won’t need to sweeten the coffee a drop. It’s very, very rich and tasty on its own. Gramos have also managed to acquire the single best cinnamon roll in all the UK. It’s built like a rose, and tastes wonderful (especially when slightly heated. And I am reliably told I was the first customer to receive the honour ;) Lastly, but in a very real sense, most importantly, everyone I encounter working here is passionate about the shop, highly competent, and accommodating to the max. Not five minutes ago, as I sit here, I watched the staff sort a lady out with a table of her own, so she didn’t have to sit at either of the tall benches that were a bit high for her. All in all, I never pass up a visit on my way through Kings Cross. It’s a great nook to sit and read, and swap travel destination stories with the friendly...
