Have been here many years before when I was younger and did a dance performance when I was in Secondary School so I was already familiar with the venue.
Years later and here we are. I went to the Shaw Theatre on Sat 24th July 21 for the Judi Love and Friends show. Upon arrival there are lots of chairs where you can sit down and relax before the doors open in the foyer. There is a small desk to collect tickets as well as a bar. Not sure of prices as I didn't buy anything.
The toilets are downstairs and very clean. Plenty of toilet paper. Only issue I would say is some of them need new locks as two I went in had no locks and there were no paper towels to dry my hands/no dryers so I had to use loo roll.
Once the doors opened everyone was able to find their own way to their seats or you could ask the staff members. Seats were very comfortable. The venue is small and compact so no matter where you sit you will have a good view.
The view taken from my seat was from Row G - Furthest Right.
No need to check in and scan the NHS Covid check in app, wearing masks wasn't compulsory so only as you wished. Very relaxed atmosphere and wonderful venue for comedy night. Had a very fun evening out.
The theatre is super easy to find, when you come out of Euston Station, take the far left exit, go down the stairs, walk across to the opposite side of the street then walk to the main road where you turn left towards Kings Cross. You pass the Fire Station on the left and Unison office building and its just a few yards on from there after Charlton St, you will see a restaurant on the corner, turn left and you see the...
Read moreWe arranged to meet our friends last Friday night 18/7/25 at The Shaw Theatre to see the Ballet of Lights to find that there was a crowd of people and some very upset children outside as it had apparently been cancelled, yet not one of us had received an email or any notification of the show not going ahead. This event was booked back in May.
Having travelled to London specifically to see the show with our friends, you can imagine the disappointment and anger; not only ours but everyone else’s as well!!
That’s without all the inconvenience of rushing around having to have an early dinner at home, having issues with cancelled trains etc…..
How hard is it for Fever or The Shaw Theatre to send out an automated email advising us of the cancellation?!! I checked with all the other disappointed people outside and not one of us had received one!!!!! In fact one couple said this was the second time it had happened to them!!!
Having contacted both Fever (the event organiser) and The Shaw Theatre direct, I have still not been given an explanation as to why this happened. The theatre did not even have a note on the door and it was completely void of anyone.
Yes, we got our ticket money refunded after complaining, however they have refused to pay our travel costs!!
Please be aware of this if you book any performances via Fever or at The...
Read moreVisited theatre for panto in 2017, decent enough theatre where every seat has a good view of the stage. Auditorium entrance is at street level, toilets are downstairs with disabled access toilet at street level. Wheelchair seats are right in front of stage. 3 stars given for lack of access to/availability of box office when trying to book tickets for panto 2019. Disabled guests who can't attend theatre without a companion are entitled to get a free ticket for their companion, however companion tickets can't be booked online. Took almost 2 months, several attempts on phone "before during and after" listed performances and non performance dates, and an email that went unanswered, before I finally got through to the box office. Girl I spoke to was able to sell me tickets, and e-tickets promptly arrived in my in-box, but she seemed confused as to why I would want to buy them so early - had to explain the lengths I'd already gone through to try and buy them so I wasn't going to get off phone today without...
