Greggs — Restaurant in London

I order here quite regularly But today (23-04-2024) completely out of place, I wait outside as I have a dog so I stand with the code from the APP

I was looking at the staff yet no one even looks my way, too busy chatting with each other, I try to get their attention with my code I waited 17 minutes for someone to take my order code but nothing, as if I wasn’t there I then went in with the dog and immediately older woman says: you’re not allowed to bring the dog in.

I said: I know, that’s why I came in, you saw me at the door and just stood there ignoring me

She goes: we don’t bring orders outside and left I said I paid for my order so you will have to hand it to me if you don’t allow dogs

She: you must take your dog out for your order

What angers me as someone who worked in customer service for years is not that they were late, things can happen and just ignore someone unintentionally, What angers me is how they quickly point when I come in with the dog, so quickly to say we don’t bring orders outside, when literally I got no other option to get my food now can’t come in, and can’t wait outside because they don’t bring the stuff out now apparently, so is a no win situation.

Few moments later a customer exists and pats me down and says it’s alright mate, I will stay with your dog, but I said nah they should bring my stuff as I come here all the time

It takes literally takes less than 5 seconds to hand someone a baguette and a drink outside because they can’t come in.

This customer service, or lack of, because I can’t call it such, especially as someone who comes here regularly. There is a guy that works here and brings my dog a sausage, is always friendly, and Asian girl very thoughtful that’s customer service in comparison to someone who deliberately ignores you, and tells you we don’t bring you food, and you can’t come in with your dog either as if It’s such a massive inconvenience to do 4 extra steps to bring the stuff outside

What is completely wrong is the attitude that followed I was standing at the door in the cold as I know the no dog policy but they ignored me as if I wasn’t there,

Apart from the frustration, The other reason for the complaint is that Chingford itself is full of dogs, so it’s out of place to have someone so rude when they see a dog, it’s true that the policy doesn’t allow dogs, I get that however the staff to have attitude and refuse to serve you because you have one in a dog popular place is unusual, the problems is not something you’d expect especially in Chingford where vast majority of shops are friendly, fish and chips give sausages and dog bowls for water, and treats everywhere among majority of coffee shops being dog friendly to then have Greggs ignore you at the door and tell you, you can’t do nothing about it and we don’t serve you, is a...

Ofcourse greggs food are tasty, who says it not.. and the staff are really nice too! However Its always a slow service in the more and somtimes the hot pasteries are are cold and they say the cannot re-heat it, doesnt make sence to give hot food to customers cold. what triggered me the most was when I asked for a vegen sausage roll, once I left with it and ready to eat, I took a bite and it was not vegan sausage. It was the pork sausage roll. Thankfully I'm not a vegan person, I just can't eat the meat because it's not halal.... im still shocked as a muslim i bit into pork...... imagine someone who was a Muslim or Vegen/vegetarian and this happen... even worse what if someone was severely allergic to somthing and...

I don't usually complain but this has to be written.. Gregg's Pasties. Two weeks ago I bought 2. Sat in the church green and began. Both pasties had raw pastry on the inner layer whilst, the outer layer seemed fine. The contents mainly the vegetables were very very undercooked. And hugely lacking in FLAVOUR. I thought it was a one off and so I put it down to that . TODAY... I tried another pasty. Over to the green and began eating. It was worse than before. Even the dog turned up his nose. Having worked in a fish n chip shop I know what's cooked and what isn't. The setting in their oven is too high. And that a fact.
