Went for a family dinner on Saturday night, wasn't too busy, didn't have to make a reservation. I heard so much about this place and the fact that they did Indo Chinese. Sad to say it was average.. we ordered for starters the hot and sour chicken soup - felt watery and didn't have a kick or much taste to it, kolkata chilli chicken - at first I thought this was good but wait till you hear about the mains. Also ordered the chicken lollipop - was average but better than some of the other indo chinese restaurants I've tried, would have been nice if they served it with a garlic tomato sauce on the side as a dip, it needed it. Steer far away from the chicken in spring onions it's just not worth it taste wise nor the money (accidental order). For mains we ordered the cantonese chicken and prawn noodles (it's shrimp!) - wasn't all that and wouldn't order it again, perhaps an improvement is to serve it with fried noodles instead of soft noodles that have been kissed by the wok. The star of the show and what I would go back for is the mains chilli chicken and egg fried rice, it took me back to my childhood in India, it's on point but £9 for egg fried rice.. I mean you don't even get charged that in central london! Overall it was an average experience which was a shame but I would maybe consider ordering the chilli chicken to go.

I will never forget this experience of dining in Hakka Garden on the Diwali night on the occasion of the birthday of my loveliest wife. I am an ardent lover of the vintage Indo-Chinese cuisine , who hails from the birth place of that very cuisine, i.e Kolkata! Just when I was about to give up on the hopes of finding anything similar to Kolkata's Chinese food, I came across this restaurant on the internet and my sixth sense told me "Let's try this". And oh boy, what an experience it was. Pure nostalgia, one bite of the succulent fried prawns and zap, I teleported to the gullies of Tyangra, the mecca of Indo-Chinese food in Kolkata. Honestly, this came as a surprise. Great familiar food, great ambience and last but not the least, the two persons managing the restaurant, Pinaki and the other guy, they were fabulous, very professional and polite. Can't wait to go back again. If you have read this far, I'm sure you will want to verify what I am saying. Hurry up! Head to Queensbury, the foodgasm awaits you šŸ˜„

After our visit today and meeting the master chef and the owners, I can confidently say that this restaurant is a must-visit for all Indo-Chinese cuisine lovers. Other customers have raved about the delicious food and generous portions served at Hakka Gardens. Their specialties are Hakka noodles, Chinese bhel, and Chicken lollipop. Their menu is diverse and offers a wide range of dishes to choose from, catering to all dietary needs. The ambiance of the restaurant is also top-notch, with a comfortable and welcoming vibe. The staff is friendly and always willing to help, which makes dining there an enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a new place to try some tasty Indo-Chinese food, then I highly recommend Hakka Gardens. With their high-quality ingredients, excellent recipes, and outstanding service, you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant doesnt even deserve 1 star! First time i called to place a takeaway order....a gentleman answers the phone and behaves as if he cannot hear me saying sorry what and eventually passes me to a lady who then asks my name and asks my order....at this point i have said my order upto 15 times politely and as much as i could which was MOGO kung pao style....the lady then says sorry mam i cannot understand and then she says i will put u on with someone else...at this point quite frustrated because she can hear everything else i am saying but my order i ask why is it so difficult to place a takeaway order and why can u not understand what I am saying? I even explained this is the 1st time i am ordering with u guys and want to try ur food why am i having to be passed to multiple colleagues for a simple takeaway order?! The lady then apologised and said i am not able to know what u are ordering or something to that affect so i asked her if she needed to look at the menu to which she said no...so i asked to speak to a manager and then when the manager came on the phone i again explained what i was calling for and at this point thinking of not bothering!! Then he explained that his staff are sick and they are both new staff....which isnt really my issue sorry to say and if they are answering the phone they should know the menu ATLEAST!!! He then accused me of lying saying they tried to explain that they were new and i at this point am fuming with hanger u could call it!! I mean i gave them a chance and i wasnt loud or rude just a little annoyed but calm and no point did they explain they were new!!! And after all that directly said i will be putting this review up and no longer want to order!!! I mean for a 1st time i ended up spending 20 mins on the phone trying to order a takeaway and ended up with NO FOOD!!! i would NOT bother with this place really a waste of...

Loved the food. Very disappointed that the service charge of 12.5% don't seem to be getting shares with waiting staff.

Went again and the food has gone downhill. Same was noted by other friends who went there recently. Shame that I have had to downgrade the star rating..

Went in March25. The food is pretty average. Crispy Lotus Root is worth a try. Hot and sour veg soup, crispy corn, veg manchurian and singapore noodle are okay. Monster chicken wings are smallest chicken wings you will ever come across but they were tastey. Chicken spring roll and chicken tepanyaki are tasteless and would say badly prepared. Choc fudge cake was dry and stodgy but the sizzling brownie was nice. They didn't have Angostura bitters in stock to make a proper Old Fashioned but they still were happy to serve it until they got called out!! The service is poor where they constantly got the order wrong. The waiter was laying out fredh plates for the next course even before collecting table full of used and empty tableware. And dare not go in...
