Hermanos Colombian Coffee Roasters is a testament to how consistent quality and service can allow a venue to survive the harsh realities of the London High Street. Barnes is particularly competetive in this regard, with limited real estate and many businesses unable to survive in a post pandemic, 'cost of living' crisis.
Whilst not the cheapest of coffees(currently sitting at around £3.50 for a cappuccino at time of writing), the end product is absolutely worth the asking price, delivering a satisfying, earthy and rich blend of coffee bean with a velvet, milky foam.
The Colombian provenance and theme is a resounding success, with convincing props, decor and ambience to give the impression of being amongst scenic and misty mountaintops of the Colombian uplands - minus the 'other' infamous export operations.
On a personal note, the staff are incredibly kind and accommodating, and were more than willing to provide me with a free coffee when I intimated that I had had my reward card stolen during an unfortunate incident earlier in the week.
On a lighter note, the premises themselves are located within a minute's walk of Barnes pond, should you be looking to take-away your chosen coffee for a bit of Spring-time water-fowl gazing.
If you are looking for caffeinated enrichment, served by sincere and excellent staff, then the obvious step is a trip to the brilliantly located Hermanos Colombian...
Read moreIf you consider yourself a true coffee connaisseur, Hermanos is an absolute gem you need to experience. From the moment you step into the vibrant, welcoming shop, you can tell that this place takes its craft seriously. The aroma of freshly roasted Colombian beans fills the air, and the décor is warm, stylish, and full of character.
I ordered a latte, and I can say without hesitation that it was perfectly made. The milk was steamed to a silky, velvety texture, blending seamlessly with the espresso to create a cup that was both rich and smooth, without a hint of bitterness. The latte art was not only beautiful but also a sign of the care and precision that goes into every cup here.
The menu is thoughtful, offering a wide selection of both classic and specialty drinks, and the shelves are lined with their own roasted beans—each bag tempting you to take a little bit of Hermanos home. Their attention to quality and detail truly sets them apart.
Sitting outside with my cup, watching the morning unfold, I couldn’t help but appreciate how this coffee elevates the everyday ritual into something special. Hermanos is more than a café; it’s a celebration of coffee done right.
For anyone who loves coffee—or for anyone wanting to understand why people fall in love with it—this is the...
Read moref.a.o. the manager: I go to Hermanos in Barnes quite regularly and always I find nice coffee and nice pastries/snacks, but not today Sat 30/12/2023; not at all unfortunately, because today I was extremely unsatisfied; I had a pastel de nata and a macchiato in a large cup to take away, around 14.30; the pastel de nata was beautiful, but I'm afraid the macchiato was absolutely horrible; it seemed like the milk was OFF; really I would have brought the macchiato back at the bar if I wasn't already departed with my car; please check before serving sour milk; it's a matter that could change in a bad manner the day of your customers and it could even be unsafe. Anyway, since your concept is nice and since your staff is always warm welcoming (that's why I put 2 stars and not just one) I will be happy to cancel this review if you can serve me a NICE MACCHIATO for free next time I walk in. It's not for the 2 pounds of course, it's just like a kind of understanding the very few customers who had a bad experience. Kind Regards, Natalino - one of...
