Weirdest experience ever… We came at 21:20 (advertised opening hour until 22:00) we walked towards the door and the team were both outside and one ushered the other across the road. After the team working decided to come in to serve us they asked us what we wanted as they didn’t have a lot left. We said simply to tell us what they had and we would decide what we wanted (if anything from that.) they refused to tell us what they had and insisted we told them what we wanted, which after a little back and forth we eventually told them we were looking for chips and a battered sausage. After all of that they told us they didn’t have what we wanted but they would give us 2 saveloy for free- which we declined as that’s not what either of us fancied. £22 for two chips, cod & soggy sausage in batter.. three onions. Onions soaked in water don’t taste of onions not fresh, reheated old chips I’m guessing from weekend, worst chips I had out of here. Chips & food heading to the bin literally. Not impressed. Chips were not fresh and proper old dry chips it’s not the spud or the oil. 100% mixed old chips and stuck in a refry 100%. Went there for the first time with my partner a few days ago as the reviews looked good. Ordered the cod with chips and savaloy which was cooked fresh for us. We really appreciated this ! And not only that, they are extremely generous with the portion size! The fish was huge and they clearly were happy to give us a large portion of chips to go with our fish!
