Hi-Tide — Restaurant in London

We were looking for traditional fish and chips as good as in our old area (I Fratelli, Stratford E15). Tried a few but nothing came close. Almost gave up.Then I tried Hi-Tide. Wow. Excellent cod. My daughter's tried a bit and said 'wow that's really good'. The batter was crispy. The chips lovely. The batter around the sausage was crispy. Nothing was greasy or oily. Everything is fresh and prepared from high quality ingredients!

The chips are crisp and the frying oil used is clean and the more expensive kind.

The fish tastes as good as it would down in Hastings, fresh from a beach launch trawler!

Everything is prepared in a traditional English way and the owners/staff are always very friendly and welcoming.

Awful experience tonight. Was told a 10 minute wait for one cod, three sausages and chips. Took 30 minutes! Food wasn't even that great. On a Saturday night you would expect the staff to be a bit more organised instead they cook as and when you come in and order but clearly phone orders take preference over customers in person.
