Prezzo Italian Restaurant Upminster — Restaurant in London

Awful! Arrived at 8.20pm early for an 8.30pm booking after a long day. Didn't have my first choice - apparently run out of the ravioli and sea bass all the time because they don't remember and/or defrost enough. Asked for garlic bread and pastas to come out together. Garlic bread arrived, told there was no note of my request and then walked off! No offer to keep it warm, so I followed up and asked. It was taken away. Brought back with pasta. Looking up? No. After a few bites, a LIVE SPIDER crawled out from under a piece of chicken!! Didn't make a loud fuss. Pointed it out and plate whipped away with the offer to get me a fresh dish. Declined as no longer fancied it. Dining partner continued to eat but not the same, nice dinner we had come out for. Bill cancelled - appreciated as it was the right thing to do but didn't help that I had 4 pieces of garlic bread for my dinner. After working late collecting my son at 9:30PM. Due to traffic and road closure we were on able to eat at our favourite restaurant. So after driving around going to Brentwood then Upminster trying to find something to eat for myself and my 14 year old son is becoming a bit of a nightmare. We ended up passing Prezzo Upminster at 10:30-ish. We had been turned down due to it being too late by so many places this is our last hope. Luckily the member of staff welcomed us with a beaming smile and said that they were happy to serve us although they closed shortly. We eagerly took a place and ordered. Firstly can I say that the staff was so happy to serve us even know their shift was due to end. they were very attentive and very friendly, making jokes with my boy. We neither felt rushed or a burden. We were absolutely disgusted at the extremely poor quantity of food in tiny pots of our sides!! The Caesar Salad was served in a small type sugar bowl, and only had two small crushed lettuce leaves with grated cheese on top, with absolutely nothing else!! The side chips were in the same tiny bowl type and consisted of ten French fries which was truly appalling!! This is the first time after numerous visits that we had such poor quality and quantity of food, and has left us with the feeling of not returning again. As the restaurant was absolutely rammed with people we could not get the attention of a server to complain.
