This visit was on last Sunday of Easter Holidays. Park was very busy and stocks of food were very low. Ended up having a vegan burger a d chips. You could only tell burger was not meat by the colour of the inside of the burger. Had to admit I was impressed. Wide selections of drinks and a daily soup of the day. Which I only saw after I ordered. NOT CHEAP to eat here, but food was good. Had to take coffee back as cup was underfilled.....TWICE. That really annoyed me, given price. Addendum Having read other reviews on this site and the responses from those at Horniman reading the same, with their standardised replies. I would like to know more about what will done. I have looked at these reviews over a protracted period and it's clear that the same issues keep rising. High prices, poor service, (Especially during the busier periods) and sub-standard food. It's one thing to say I will forward your comments to the team, but if nothing changes, what's the point. At the very least, this level of complaint should be known at management level (Director or Board) so that actions to rectify the issues raised (Where possible) can be initiated. I would also suggest that the board consider its position and maybe create seats for service users or appointed bodies, with an aim to get effective feedback and to drive continuous improvements. I do realise that in a cost of living crisis and post Pandemic there are exceptional demands, especially where food and wages are concerned but poor customer service should never be excused. Charities rely on visitors and good will to loose 1 to a Pandemic is bad enough, to loose both is a catastrophe. Perhaps the Board can initiate across the board customer service training, so that no group is...

Then informed us that we would only go there to order hot food. So I processed to order my hot food, requested for a late £2. 95, got a children's box, £5.75, chips, nuggets and peas for £ 6.95 then a pot of ketchup 20p. I wanted an egg bun and chips. The lady serving me, was being very rude and unhelpful, repeated so many times that they didn't have that. I had seen someone eating what I was requesting, she kept on repeating that they don't do that... She was making me feel very uneasy as I just wanted to order hot food.. then she told me maybe I can move on and come back because she has other people waiting.... Woman wait a minute,🤚🏾I'm sorry not like we didn't wait almost 5 minutes before you decided who was going to serve us... I got really annoyed and moved on. To the next part of your oder being the part you pay. So I explained to the man that her staff is rude and has zero customer service skills. So he was able to put the order through. And my meal of 2 fried eggs in a bun and chips came to £8.00 my whole bill came to a whopping £27.00- not happy at all

Read moreNice cafe but since it has been taken over recently they have become less child friendly. Lots of kids come to the cafe hungry around 11am but the kids cooked menu is now not available until 12 noon (despite a breakfast menu for adults available). The only kids specific food are the 2 lunch boxes which are quite basic. I offered one to my toddler but she she was not interested in it. She wanted something from the kids cooked menu (like she used to have) but as it was not available I just got her a smoothy and ordered food and drinks for myself and the other child we were with spending £23. At the table I gave her half left over a bread roll I had in my bag she had not finished from when we were in the gardens earlier. A staff member quickly came over to the table and said I was not allowed to give it to her as it was our own food and it 'looks really bad'. She was upset as she had to go hungry while myself and the other child we were with ate our food and kept asking me why she couldn't have it. As we left I saw about five other families supplementing what they had bought in the cafe with other snacks for their toddlers so it felt...
