If you don’t read long reviews then simply: I would advice you never to eat at this restaurant. Done.
Still here? Then tuck yourself in, this is a long one. Never have I experienced such aggression from a waiter. This isn’t Karen’s Bar!
We went for food here and ordered four dishes. Two mains with rice, a meat (pork) dish and a desert. The mains came out but the meat was nowhere to be seen. There the desert came and still no meat….so I asked where it is and the waitress said it was still coming.
As time went on (about an hour at this point) we had finished our meals and were waiting for the pork dish to arrive so we asked the staff who just said “two minutes”. 5 to 10 minutes later it did indeed arrive but not with our other food, so we just had meat presented in the waitresses hand in front of us.
I therefore asked for some sort of discount on the dish as our rice and veg had been long finished and we were just left with meat. Also and more importantly we had waited so, so long for this to arrive. You would have expected an order to come together. It obviously appears they forgot about it.
Anyway, the girl asked and came back and said no, so we asked to speak to the person she spoke to about it. She said she is part time and can’t give a discount. She then took the meat away and we never saw it again. Along came our new friend. A male waiter (but not manager) and he was aggressive.
He was so rude talking to us with a had raised voice from the get go, basically shouting at us that we must pay and no discount. He then came with the bill and behold! The meat had been taken off. So no discount after all, and no mention of the meat being taken back inside, it was just silently taken off the bill. So what on earth has we been waiting for?!?!
But there there was also a service charge…
Now, I totally agree about paying service charge and tipping waiters etc, especially for good service. But the issue is we had waited so long for the dish that we no longer seemed to be allowed to have and we also were left with a waiter shouting at us. There was no way in hell we were paying this place a service charge when a member of their staff thought he could get away with talking at us like that. Service charge for good service, right?
We remained calm throughout and spoke to him with respect. Being a waiter is hard work but he obviously finds it extremely difficult. My other half asked him to remove the service charge and the guy shouted at us to pay it and refused constantly to do it. He kept on arguing that he will not remove the service charge and we must pay it. He even kept asking “are we paying together or separately ?” And ignored our persistent requests. I decided to start recording this on my phone as he was getting bizarre with his attitude and tone of voice. He then stared talking in Mandarin to my other half (he is Chinese too) which I felt kept me out of the situation but he said it was a human rights act and he can speak whatever language he wants. Obviously, I found out he was saying EXACTLY the same thing he has been saying in English.
He then started offering us free food, £10, free drinks, £100 just to keep the service charge on. This was getting intensely weird by this point. Something strange is going on here. We said no and that we want to pay the bill but not the service charge and leave.
After this went in circles for a while he eventually got the new bill and came back to us. He asked me to delete the video of him doing all this but I refused…so he got his own phone and recorded us. I am fine with that, we were sat on the table outside in the public space so he can if he wants to. On his own phone he made a point of saying we were liars and waited only 20mins. Tut tut.
He had no customer service skills and his behaviour towards us was awful. The service was terrible and merited us not wanting to pay a service charge, especially when being shouted at. I would never eat here again and I would advice you all to do the same but that is your choice....

If you were living around, it would be highly significant to order your food through 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙤. It is delivery friendly. This place is an 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙚 restaurant. So if you want something spicy, please check this place.
I had various selections of food for two people. I recommend you choose three dishes instead of my portion.
Menu: Ashai draft beer: Super fresh and suitable for this weather. Skewers (Beef and beans): It has a typical Chinese flavour, so if you love Chinese food, you will enjoy it. Mara Shanguo: Typically, it is famous for being spicy, but I made it less spicy. I placed lotus, bean sprouts, potatoes, thick noodles, shrimp, and pak choi. This is a significant portion to have, so try it if you are with at least three people. Make it less spicy so it doesn’t burn your tongue😜. Shrimp Fried Rice: It was a lovely dish but slightly overput soy sauce. If you love soy sauce, I recommend it. Aubergine and beef fried sandwiches: This is fascinating to try. The crispy one bite in a second, and second, you will find it soft. The combination of crisp and soft was terrific. Kwubaro: slightly overcooked but very nice to try when you love it.
I highly recommend Skewers, Mara Shanguo and Abergine and Beef Sandwiches. This is something that you cannot see anywhere else in London. But all the dishes are highly authentic and even the price was so affordable. Please go and check this place if you are willing to have an 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙚...

My favourites were the aubergine, potato & green pepper dish, it’s always my go-to. I love the deep fried texture as well as it being squishy and soft at the same time. The portions for the main dishes are huge & generous, we got the braised pork belly with rice, super delicious & came with two types of Chinese pickled vegetables & egg.
Beef ho fun is such a classic dish and had the perfect flavour but the beef was a tad chewy for my likings. Deep-fried ribs were my least favourite as it lacked meat and tasted similar to the skewers.
Absolute must order are their Taiwanese sausage skewers, moorish & packed with flavour. Noting all the skewers had the same seasoning. For dessert, the rice cake dipped in condensed milk became a crowd favourite to end the meal. Perfect for 3-4...
