We had forgotten to book a table. But luckily for us the staff were able to fit us in at the last minute for three people on a busy Saturday afternoon. Especially since we had already paid for parking outside. The restaurant is located in a residential estate, and the majority of patrons looked to be local. The restaurant was half full when we arrived at 1pm. But it had a nice buzz. Children were on adjacent tables and seemed to be enjoying the whole experience. The service was attentive and we were advised on how many dishes to order, which was just enough for three adults. We shared a teapot of Chinese tea, which sat on a candle warmer. This was a nice touch as it kept the tea warm throughout our lunch. The servers kept topping up our cups. Each dim sum dish can be found on a typical Hong Kong style dim sum menu. But some of them had a nice twist. We particularly enjoyed the kanefi and mango prawn roll and the beancurd and prawn cheung fun. The baked pork puff buns, had a strong yeast flavour, which over powered the taste of the filling and the grilled turnip cakes were flavoursome but burnt. The prices were a little more expensive than I would expect from a local outer London establishment and approx £8-9 per dim sum dish. But all in all it was a nice experience. We would return again, but not so often due to the value for money.

I recently visited JM Oriental Kitchen & Dim Sum Restaurant with some friends on a Saturday night. We pre-booked, but we were surprised to see that the restaurant was only half full. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a relaxing ambience. The service was excellent by all staff, especially Alex, who went out of his way to entertain us throughout the evening. The menu offers a wide variety of elegant Chinese food, not just dim sum. We picked a few starters and mains as recommended by the waiter, and everything was beautifully presented and very tasty. The food was not cheap, but it was definitely worth the price. We had a great time at JM Oriental Kitchen & Dim Sum Restaurant, and we would definitely recommend it to others. Pros: Beautiful décor Relaxing ambience Excellent service Wide variety of food Beautiful presentation Delicious food Cons: Parking can be a pain Can be a bit pricey Overall: JM Oriental Kitchen & Dim Sum Restaurant is a great place to go for a special occasion or a night out with friends. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxing. I would definitely recommend it to others.

This restaurant has gone through a completely new renovation from its entire interior design to menu since this summer. I went recently and was surprised at how beautiful it’s become, the ambience is very comfortable and elegant - perfect place to have drinks (cocktails, wine etc) whilst talking comfortably. If you went here before the renovation and didn’t have the best experience, definitely give this place another go because I believe the chefs have changed and the menu has improved greatly. The dim-sum and meal choices are little compared to the average Chinese restaurant but in exchange every dish is made to a high quality standard. I highly recommend everything but in particular for dim-sum, the mushroom truffle bun, beef steak puff pastry and baked barbecued pork bun blew me away. Dinner was also incredibly enjoyable and none of the dishes were oily or too heavy in taste - the truffle duck was so delicious. Will definitely be back!

I dare say this is probably one of the poshest Chinese restaurants for fine dining in North London suburbs. The restaurant has a rather unassuming frontage but on entering, a very modern and inviting decor, tastely furbished, with comfortable and spacious seatings, and friendly, attentive service. It has a relatively small menu, unlike other Chinese restaurants with menus that can run into pages and pages, like with a dozen different choices of beef, pork, rice, and noodles ! The food tasted authentic Chinese, not Anglicised, and of good quality but in relatively small portions. The price is higher than average Chinese restaurants as one would expect, but you do get what you paid for in terms of quality and ambience. Update January 2025 Came back with a few friends for a return visit. Pleased to report that the standard had been maintained. Extra pictures added

An unexpected gem nestled within a sprawling apartment complex very near to the Royal Air Force Museum this restaurant impresses with its contemporary chic decor and tastefully renovated interior (compared to chinese restaurant of similar profile). Boasting an array of award-winning dim sum dishes, this culinary haven offers a delightful fusion of traditional flavors and modern presentation. Gold leaf on top of turnip cake (lo bak go)! From its inviting ambiance to its impeccable service, every aspect of the dining experience at JM exudes sophistication and charm. Price wise, you do get what you pay for. Whether you're a dim sum aficionado or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, this promises to exceed expectations and leave a lasting impression. If I am in the area again, we will surely visit again! Family friendly, service is lovely.

Good Chinese Cantonese fusion. Food quality amd service are good. Front may be a little deceiving but inside is perfect.
