Not so ‘jolly’ at The Jolly Coopers

My family and I booked a table for dinner on Sat, 27 May. Having turned up and seated at our allocated / reserved table at the back of the garden, we waited and waited and waited for over 30 minutes. During that time, no one gave us a menu, took our order or offered pre-dinner drinks. It evidently not that busy as we noticed that one of the waitresses had the time to chat informally to an off-duty colleague for at least 10 minutes!

As the evening was fast disappearing and we were hungry and fed up of waiting, we got up to leave. Ironically when she saw us leaving the table, the waitress eventually came over. We told her that it was too little too late and that we had had enough of being ignored. We also went over to the off-duty member of staff and told her that we were leaving due to the inordinate time wasted waiting to be served. She apologised, but again we explained the that it was too late as our dining experience had been marred.

Fortunately, we managed to book a table at a wonderful restaurant in Teddington and salvage what little time was left of our evening. However, because of what happened at The Jolly Coopers we didn’t sit down to dine until 9.00!!

In the current climate, how can you let customers like us slip through your fingers, particularly when we are quite willing to part with our money?!!

Unacceptable, and to quote “certainly not a pub / restaurant for us” or indeed other customers. Not a very nice way...

Perfect location. Exceptional apartments. Superb food. Friendly welcome.||The apartments are above a very much loved local historic pub, the Jolly Coopers, run by super welcoming hosts, Nick and Jane Witham.||The apartments are stunning. Elegant bathrooms, stylish sofas, fabulous wallpaper, comfy beds, gorgeous lighting.||And yet also very practical. A double fronted cupboard reveals a beautiful kitchenette with microwave, dualit toaster, sink and nespresso machine.||From breakfast to dinner, if you wish, you will be spoilt for choice from the English, Cuban, Spanish and US-influenced menu created by legendary chef, Vinny. The Nachos with home- made tortilla chips and the garlic prawns are just two of my favourites.||You may even struggle to leave but then you'd be missing out on the many gems that Hampton has to offer.||It's a 10-15 minute walk to Hampton Court Palace either through stunning Bushy Park, or along the banks of the river Thames. And there's even a heated outdoor swimming pool a few minutes away.||So if you prefer to stay in authentic, independently owned accomodation run by great people near amazing scenery, with the option of incredible food; No 16 might just be your...

We had a lovely warm welcome from the landlady and landlord. I went for lunch with my elderly mother and the landlady noticed her chair was wobbly and immediately changed it. There was a short delay in taking our order and an item missing from one of the dishes but everything was quickly resolved. The decor is really well done, with a lot of attention to detail (especially in the ladies loo 😉) Although it was a little chilly there were people in the courtyard area outside which looks inviting. I would definitely recommend it and will be going again when I next go home, just sad it's not where I live now as I'd be a regular â˜ș

A glorious, sunny and warm Sunday afternoon. It's the first time I've had a table outside, and it was lovely! Umbrellas, rafts giving mottled shade and shelter, if it had rained. Roast lamb ordered, and i can honestly say, I have never had such tender and tasty lamb! Not only was there a a really decent serving of lamb, it just melted. Served with all the trimmings, and absolutely no rush to leave the table. Sorry, it looked so good, totally forgot to take a photo! Booking in advance is a must. Thank you, all!

First time at The Jolly Coopers and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Staff are so welcoming and lovely, the food was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu. My only gripe is that the parking around the area is nonexistent. Which I would like to add isn’t the fault of The Jolly Coopers. Would I go back?? Oh hell YES!!!!
