Joy Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in London

RAW food alert. Just ordered from here as new to the area and wanted to check my options out having tried Thali-ho and Red rose of which both were superb. I ordered a Chicken Korma and pilau rice and collected it. Took one bite when I got home and immediately noticed the chewy raw texture. Cut open a few other pieces and all were pink as the photos attached show. Called the restaurant to ask for a refund and they told me firstly how incredible they were, secondly that I was wrong and then finally agreed to refund me. An hour later a delivery driver arrived with another order of chicken korma and pilau rice. I declined, explaining that I wasn’t going to chance eating more raw chicken and I showed the driver the bowl of food and we agreed it was pink and raw. He became pushy and tried to make me take the new order anyway. I had to decline 5 times. A telephone call followed by the manager who again told me they were marvellous and that I didn’t know what I was talking about and that he had personally checked the chicken and that it was fine. He asked the same driver if the chicken that I showed him was pink and I overheard him say “no, not pink”. Make your own minds up people (see photos that show the chicken being more pink than the pink bowl I had served it in) and be careful eating here if you like your tummies. To be fair they did apparently eventually refund me, but this is yet to drop into my account. I am a big foodie and this is now an absolute NO for me...

A disgraceful Service, dishonest information and Shambolic operation Ordered takeaway meal at 7:32 pm and it was delivered at 9:28. They told me the order will be delivered within the next hour. I confirmed 8:30 pm. Telephoned them at 9:00 pm chasing the order, I was told the order left restaurant 10 minutes ago (8:50 pm) and it will be at my door any minute. The drive from restaurant to my house is only 10 minutes and less on a Sunday night. Telephoned them again at 9:20 and they said it will be there in less than 5 minutes. If they can deliver as they promise, they should be honest with customers so the customer can decide to pick it up. This is totally unacceptable. \we have eaten in JOY restaurant in Surbiton and ordered food from them in the last 15 years. A very good establishment, excellent service and good food has been transformed into a disgraceful Service, dishonest and shambolic operation. I will no longer eat or order from Joy restaurant Surbiton and I highly recommend you avoid this establishment and people...

As a regular customer, I can't help but gush about how amazing Joy Indian Cuisine is! It truly is the best restaurant in Surbiton. The food is not only delicious but also very affordable, making it a great value for money. The staff is exceptional, for their service. They go above and beyond to accommodate all dietary preferences, like making a special non-spicy dish for my friend. And let me tell you, my friend couldn't get enough of it! The waiter was a gem, guiding us on the perfect meal choices and making sure we didn't over-order. The bill was a pleasant surprise, with reasonable pricing and no hidden fees. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also top-notch, being the largest and most beautiful in Surbiton. And let's not forget about the garlic naan - it was out of this world! Freshly baked and paired perfectly with the curry. We had an absolute blast at the last Elvis Night, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.
