I was hoping this would be a positive experience but I was quite overwhelmed. The food was lovely, but ordering was an issue and the waitress came across quite abrupt & not at all understanding of dietary needs. We are a neurodivergent family, I understand that some things would be more of a challenge for us than others, such as the music being louder than I'd like. However, other things like the lack of leniency over the menu was ridiculous! I overheard another parent having the same issue as we were leaving. They were highly reluctant to let my autistic child just have chips and beans (these are both items that are sold), instead saying they could only have these with a full breakfast 🤷🏻‍♀️ They also wouldn't make a child's portion of chips and the child's hot chocolate was charged as an adults until I queried with a different member of staff, so they did discount it kindly. There is a toy area which was helpful while we waited. Nice decor. Comfy seats 🥰 The food was decent and well presented. The toilet needed a nicer hand wash and hand towel, but that may just be my neurodivergence. If you are happy with making no menu changes and a direct wait staff, it's ok. Overall we wouldn't be in a rush to return, we will wait for Urban Bites to come back from their hols!

Karya Café and Bistro is a wonderful little spot that I’m so glad I discovered. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming – exactly the kind of place you want for a slow morning or an easy afternoon. The staff are genuinely kind and attentive without ever being overbearing. Service was smooth, and you can tell they care about making guests feel comfortable. I came here for breakfast, and the food did not disappoint. Everything was freshly prepared, nicely presented, and tasted delicious. The menu has a good range of options to suit different appetites, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. What really stood out for me was the coffee – rich, aromatic, and perfectly made. It pairs beautifully with their breakfast dishes, and I could easily see myself coming back just for a cup and a quiet read. The overall vibe is chilled and cozy, making it a great place to either start the day or take a break from the busyness outside. With tasty food, lovely coffee, kind service, and fair prices, Karya Café and Bistro is a spot I’d happily recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable café experience.

First review: They don’t know the ingredients of the food they’re serving, pretty dangerous, no allergy book, is this actually legal? After owners reply (see pic attached). I’m afraid your reply is not accurate at all. I walked in and your staff wasn’t able to give me the ingredients of 3 cakes. They apologised and said next time they’ll 100% have that information but you are not telling me the same. Please see legal requirements for food businesses in the uk below. ‘Food business operators in the retail and catering sector are required to provide allergen information and follow labelling rules as set out in food law’ So please don’t be rude. You did not have when I went into your shop and probably still don’t have proper allergy information considering your reply. This is pretty serious. I repeat, you did not know the ingredients of 3 cakes when I was there yesterday, please don’t be arrogant. You have to know ingredients of all food you sell and be able to inform your costumers. Of course I won’t be eating anything from your shop as it seems you don’t care about if you kill a person or not.

I highly recommend eating here.

Decided to treat myself on a sunny yet cold Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t overly busy, there was a nice atmosphere and not noisy at all. So much choice on their large varied menu you, I was truly spoilt for choice!

I settled on the veggie breakfast (even though I am a meat eater) and a freshly squeezed orange juice. The food came quick and it was delicious. I took my time eating and didn’t feel rushed at all. It was clear that there were a few regulars in due to some of the conversations around me. It was great to see that dogs were welcome inside too.

Everything was delicious and I even felt as though I had escaped the cold of Walthamstow! Lol. I was completely full after my meal but had to be cheeky and take a slice of ultimate carrot cake home with me. So glad I did because it was spectacular. The cake was moist, currents were plump and the icing wasn’t too sweet either. I could have eaten two slices!

On a side note, it would have been nice if offered an exchange for the eggs and mushrooms I requested not to have do to being unable to eat them, especially with paying almost £12 for...
