Decided to try this place today. Best decision ever!!
When I walked in I immediately felt welcomed. The inside is nicely decorated, clean and bright. A nice unique touch with the Dukebox, adds a calming feeling.
The young lady at the counter was fantastic. Welcoming, friendly and awnsered any enquires with a smile. She even explained how they made three of their sweet waffles The other lady was just as friendly, coming out to discuss how she made the waffle mix.
However what make this place a absolute gem is the options. Small Family business sourced ice - cream with flavours such as stem ginger, ice cream they us to make proper milkshakes.
And GLUTEN FREE waffles and pancakes. Amazing to have a choice to just have gluten free waffles that aren't vegan as well.
I ordered the cinnamon bun waffles. The wait time was perfect and I could hear the waffles being cooked. When the arrived they looked amazing. Took a bite and wow!!. Crispy on the outside but fluffy and light inside. A perfect balance between the amount of sugar and cinammon, all on top of melting butter.
Relaxed and was given a glass of water when finished. Didn't rush me. They were eager to know if I was happy and both ladies precluded to have a lovley conversation with me. Didn't ask me to leave, though we talked for over 10 minutes, and seemed to be doing other orders.
A one of a kind place. Great people, mouthwatering food and a homely atmosphere. A must try...
Read moreIf I could give 10 stars to Kate’s Waffle Cabin, I would! After a disastrous Sunday morning trying to find somewhere to eat who could cater for a Coeliac, we went to Kate’s Waffle Cabin. We’re a family of 4 including one Coeliac and one NCGI and Kate was easily able to cater for us! We were the only diners there for breakfast, which is a shame. But there was fun music playing, which Kate turned up when she noticed us singing along to one of the songs. And there was a basket full of cowboy hats which we took advantage of when we went to order! We had 2 ‘Grandpa Bear’ waffles (fresh blueberry compote and bacon - one was gluten free), a gluten free egg and cheese waffle and a bacon, egg and cheese waffle. Add milkshakes and coffee. And then Kate brought out some gf pizza waffles and doughnut bites for us to try that she’s testing out! It’s safe to say that we were stuffed when we rolled out!! I heartily recommend this business! What...
Read moreI'm a fan of Sweet & Meat generally, but Blueberry Waffles, Sausage, Eggs, Blueberry Compote, Maple Syrup, Bacon & Sausages (+ Rocket with some kind of vinegarette) shouldn't be a thing...and yet, this seemed to be presented as their signature dish.
Add to that the weird menu that asks for you to pick toppings and various sweet sauces alongside the randomly-placed and unintentionally hilarious "Garlic Butter" - Did nobody proof-read the Menu?
Diner/Greasy Spoon vibes with a Wurlitzer/Dolly Parton Music & Memorabilia as an afterthought on Ruislip Manor's High Street? It might be for some, but it wasn't for me - This isn't anything you couldn't do much better with a Waffle Iron from Argos and some vague intuition as to how flavours...
