Kathmandu Masala — Restaurant in London

We have only had takeaway from Kathmandu Masala so we can’t rate the atmosphere in the restaurant, but if it’s anything like their food and service, it gets 5 stars! This is by far the best Indian food we’ve tasted; authentic spicing, a varied and diverse menu, including some amazing Nepalese specials. There are no garish sauces, blended so smooth you can’t tell what’s in them, at Kathmandu you get deeply coloured and lightly textured sauces with succulent meat, perfectly cooked rice and wonderfully flavoured side dishes. The Rara chicken is super hot but absolutely amazing, the King Prawn Puri starter has a sweet and sour tang and the Sag Aloo is packed with beautifully spiced spinach and soft potatoes. Moved to Beckenham area 3 months ago and have been slowly trying different local takeaways (Indian takeaway being our favourite). Tried Kathmandu Masala for the first time tonight and I shall now be a regular. Delivered prompt and hot, threw in a couple of extra poppadoms (little touches like this go a long way) nice large pot of mango chutney, not these teeny tiny pots some places do and the dishes were delicious. We ordered a chicken Ra ra which was actually hot! I am a lover of spice and so many times places advertise their dishes as hot and I am so disappointed but this was the perfect spice for me in a lovely thick sauce and not swimming in oil. Wow! What can i say??? I'm new to the area, and really fancied a authentic curry, being an Indian punjabi myself- my standards as u can imagine is pretty high, well what an amazing experience I have just enjoyed! The gentleman on the phone was highly polite, and catered to my needs- e.g- extra hot, dishes not on the menu etc, the best customer service I have experienced for a while. Not only did the food turns up quite quick, it was also still hot! The food was absolutely gorgeous! Every thing I had asked for was definitely delivered! I can't recommend this place enough! TRUST me, I'm a very picky Indian girl! Well done guys, will definitely be ordering...
