I purchased 2 baskets from this florist. One at the end of November. This was for my dear late mother's 40 year anniversary of her passing. The basket was to be placed at her memorial stone within the crematorium. My friend mentioned when ordering, it was very important to me that the array was fresh and presentable as it was for the cemetery and I'd had a bad experience previously. I was met with a member of staff saying "of course it wouldn't have any half dead flowers on it, we wouldn't do that here". I also ordered a 2nd basket, which was for my late mother and grandparents, that I collected today. This was also for the headstone at the Crematorium. Each purchase was £25 per basket. Although upon first sight the baskets appeared to look nice. Upon closer inspection, both baskets were considerably below par. Dying pale pink roses were used in more than one area on the 1st basket. And on todays basket, they used a single red rose in the centre with greenery surrounding it. The single red rose was wilted all around the sides. And the greenery appeared to be used as a form of masking the poor quality of the rose, so it hid the wilting. In addition, whilst appreciating the rise in costs since covid, I do not feel you can warrant one flower with a few berries in a basket, and the rest being mainly greenery for £25. I would of expected to see more flowers for the price involved. I feel hugely let down by this. It is a shame, as the staff appear to be quite professional. In future I will make my own floral display, as clearly I have been left disappointed.
Review updated on 24th January as a result of the owners reply. 1st order was for 28th November 2nd order was for 24th December Both orders were paid together in mid November not seperately as suggested. Had I of paid for the first order on it's own i would not have returned for another order. You had my phone number at the time of placing the orders. You made no attempt to reach out to put things right on the 2nd order or by phone with me, after my friend expressed to you that I wasn't happy. Only now in the...
Read moreThe coffee and food was very tasty but I didn’t feel particularly welcome with my baby which is a shame as I have been told it is thriving with Mums. When asking a member of female staff where the baby change was as my son has had an accident I approached and said excuse me to her and was rudely and abruptly told ‘I will be with you in a minute with minimal eye contact ’. I could understand if they were in the middle of talking or serving someone but they were wiping down a table. When I explained I just needed the baby change to be pointed out she did help me but there wasn’t any warmth there which made me feel like I was getting in the way and being particularly awkward- this feeling is all too familiar for a first time Mum who is navigating being out and about so I probably won’t return for...
Read moreWalking into this local cafe I wouldn't normally question their service, but today I witnessed how their service changes for the ethnic minorities. The old girl on the tills took my order no payment no issues as you pay in the end, I got greeted and treated as you would expect. It was quite the opposite for the ethnic lady that walked in with her child, from the start I noticed the old girl at the tills was very dismissive with the lady, she was extremely patronising and also took payment from the lady first. The service was very different for me and the other 'white' customers. I would say if you're a minority avoid this place, I won't be going back, don't need people with hate...
