Disappointing. £11 for a large doner. Only a few years ago, I'd pay £6 for a large doner and get a really generous portion of food and polite and courteous service. Tonight, I paid £11. As soon as my food was handed over, it was obvious that the portion size was minimal. To be honest, if I'd paid £6 for tonight's meal, I wouldn't have bothered writing a review: it was disappointing but hey...it's only a kebab - but with that increased price, the expectation changes entirely. The food was average to say the least. The meat had clearly been left for ages and was very dry - and more importantly, there wasn't much of it. The salad was limp and again, minimal portion size. I wasn't asked if I wanted chili sauce or not, or how much. Again, there was a minimal amount: I had to add my own when I got home. The attitude of the staff was poor. Our presence seemed to be an inconvenience to them. My friend asked for a pot of chilli sauce and they actually argued with him to charge an extra £1. My point is that back when kebab shops were charging reasonable prices, you could overlook some things...it used to be a cheap and cheerful takeaway meal after a few beers - but when they are charging extremely high prices for food which is relatively cheap to produce, the service and quality of food needs to be way better than this. To even start to justify the extra prices they have to get everything right, and portion sizes cannot be minimal. I won't be going back to this shop. The food was average and overpriced, and the service was bordering on rude. Really disappointing. I'd like to support local businesses, but in this case, they don't deserve...
Read moreJust had the worst experience at this place. I made a collection order. Went to collect my Kebab which was ready and waiting for me. I asked the Gentleman behind the counter for some extra peppers. He said there’s peppers already in the box. I told him yes that’s fine, can I please pay for some extra peppers. (My son doesn’t eat kebab but he loves the green peppers so I bring him back some when I buy a kebab).
The man said “you want to pay!?, fine.” Tore open the wrapped kebab, grabbed a chunk of peppers and pretty much threw them at the box. I still don’t understand what exactly I did to warrant such a response from.
The other man behind the counter even turned around and asked him what’s the problem, they stopped speaking in English between themselves after this.
He said is that all or do I want more peppers. I told him it’s fine, and asked him if I said something to upset him. He said no. I grabbed a drink from the fridge. And he punched into the calculator my order. He charged me £1.50 for the drink and £1 for the extra 6 or so green peppers he threw at my box. A keen eye will notice in the photos above drinks are £1.20. I realised he overcharged me while I was in the shop but didn’t want to made a fuss, so I paid him and left. Told him I hope he has a better day tomorrow, as I was walking out.
I want to point out that I’ve been to this kebab shop a few times after work (I work evenings/ nights) and usually it’s a younger guy behind the counter. He is always pleasant with me. Never any issues. So shout out to him.
I’ll have to find another shop to stop at on my way home from...
Read moreSorry but ordered due to the positive reviews but was grossly disappointed!! Chicken was weird in texture and flavour , hardly any sauce which was watery , salad smelt off and my stomach is feeling queazy now , hope I do not have food poisoning but it all smelt pretty BAD , some of the salad was SO slimey and tasted SO off!!
Even the chicken did not taste right and the texture was not good , sad as was a treat meal but will def cook my own from now on!!!
This was a GOOD lesson on save your money and cook your own as the 'thrill' of a 'treat' is beyond disappointing let alone all the money WASTED just to feel a horrible limbo between feeling hungry still and yet ILL so cannot eat anything at all now! :-( :-( :-(
I will cook my OWN fresh at home from now on as I cannot trust this food nor salad freshness etc let alone feeling so ILL after only eating a LITTLE bit of it and it actually BELONGS in the bin! :-( :-(
I honestly feel I am going to throw up OR be ill the ''other end'' soon the way my stomach is churning , hope I am not up all night for the sake of a late treat dinner but lesson learned , will DEF cook my OWN from fresh so I KNOW everything is SAFE , fresh and clean etc!!! :-) :-)
NO meal is worth feeling this ILL for , nor takeaway , and I wish everyone could SMELL it as it is...
