Zero taste breakfast
I hate to write this, but the breakfast tasted like nothing. Considering the price, it was such a shame. I'll definitely not come back. I had the Eggs Royale. The smoked salmon was the mildest I've ever had, and I'm a seafood lover. I know smoked salmon as something salty. This one wasn't at all (which is ok maybe?). But the salmon was the least of the "problem." It could have worked out fine if the rest wasn't the way it was. The sauce on top tasted like absolutely nothing and had no salt at all. I don't mean that it could have benefitted from more salt. I genuinely mean that it had NO salt at all. It also didn't have any other taste, really. They had not used any seasoning. There were no efforts to give this breakfast any sort of taste at all. I even felt reminded of how it felt like when I had Covid and how I could not taste my food. But today, I was perfectly healthy. I let the person who I was with taste it too, and they agreed with me. It was so weird. We didn't have time for sending this back to the kitchen, and I was really hungry, so I took a few bites just to feel not hungry and left the rest on the plate. There is nothing royal about this breakfast, I'm afraid and considering that I eat out a lot, this was such a surprise. I've probably never had anything with such little flavour. I used lots of salt to fix most of it, but a dish needs to be seasoned (a) while it is cooking so that the flavours can develop and (b) more than with salt only. They should also consider to use better ingredients. A good egg and a great bread alone can have wonderful rich flavours if they have a good quality. Those wouldn't even need any seasoning at all to give more than I had this morning. But buy the cheapest egg and the plainest of plain toast...well, you'll taste what I had today. I get when people have dietary requirements and ask for no seasoning. But it wasn't the case with us. And it is such a shame as the atmosphere looked so inviting. The toast could have maybe benefitted from being buttered or something. It just did not taste like anything (I'm almost speechless about how this was even possible). The English Breakfast tea was also not the best. At a place like this with the prices they ask for, they should offer more fragrant tea and flavourful food. I tried the hash from the person I came with (apparently the "spicy hash" or something). It also didn't have any seasoning (at least I could not taste them). We had a bill between 40-50£ for a zero taste breakfast. Such a disappointing experience. The interior is very inviting. The service was half and half.
This review is not meant as a personal attack or something like that. It was my genuine experience. I really mean this as an alert that something really needs to be looked at and addressed. Please use seasoning and if you worry about customers who don't like seasoned food or salt in particular, make sure to ask them instead of assuming that everyone wants 0 taste food.
Hopefully, the next breakfasts will be a great experience for your...

Read moreI recently had the opportunity to visit this restaurant during my lunch break, and I must say that my experience was quite mixed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Sophia, the manager/waitress, who had the most infectious smile and made me feel incredibly welcome. She was an absolute delight!
Once I was seated, I perused the menu, which offered a wide variety of cakes, pastries, bread, and dishes. The selection was quite overwhelming, but Sophia came to the rescue and helped me navigate through the options, providing recommendations along the way. Her guidance was greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, the food itself was nothing to write home about. It arrived a lengthy 40 minutes after I had placed my order, leaving me with only 10 minutes to actually eat. If you're looking for a quick meal, I would suggest considering other options.
Additionally, I found the prices to be quite steep. I paid 19.95£ (excluding the service charge) for a plate of 8 sushi pieces. However, I must commend the management for their efforts to compensate me for the inconvenience. It was a thoughtful gesture, but it doesn't change the fact that I won't be returning to this restaurant for a quick lunch.
Lastly, I feel it's important to mention that about half of the staff appeared to be overwhelmed and somewhat unprofessional. It was evident that they were struggling to keep up with their workload. This aspect of my experience definitely left a negative impression.
Overall, while I appreciated the warm welcome from Sophia and the management's attempt to rectify the situation, the slow service, high prices, and unprofessional staff make it difficult for me to recommend this restaurant for a...
