Came here for a second time on Saturday afternoon, around 3pm for my late lunch as I saw nice offer on the inviting, outdoor stand.

Waiter came to take the order, and why I wanted to order this Special offer meal, she wasn’t even sure if it’s available šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

As a special offer meal, was steak + fries + glass of house wine.

I’ve ordered it medium-rare how I usually do for steaks and burgers.

What I have got, felt like a medium-raw. Not a sign of tenderness. Was struggling to cut it, and to chew.

Sadly no one came to check if food is alright, while the place was fairly empty. Had to wave to get attention, to ask what do they think, how the steak looked after I ate what I could cut.

Waiter had to ask for a manager. Manager then offered me to remove the service charge šŸ¤” This isn’t the service issue at this point, but how the ā€œSpecial item in the menu is cookedā€?

Had to wait another 10min for a bill. Then I’ve refused to pay the full price for the meal. Got offered 10% discount for it…

Don’t think I’ll come back here, which is sad, because I liked simple menu items like French toast and pumpkin soup on my last visit.

Verdict:

I you want something simple, go on! If you want something more ā€œcomplicatedā€ to prepare, better choose something...

I wish I could write a good review but not happening. By the time I write this review I visited 3 times. First time came for coffee near the first opening, it was very long wait time, but could be understood as they just opened. Second time was breakfast – food was so bad I didn’t finish. My Turkish eggs dish was extra spicy (which is not good for my stomach for breakfast) and there was no sign of warning on the menu, focaccia did not even resemble a focaccia and tasted horrible as if undercooked or badly cooked. My husband was not satisfied with his dish either. Third time I came for coffee and dessert. All (and I mean all) tables were wet after they’ve been wiped with cloth. So you can’t lay your arms or anything. Why do this? There always can be one wet and one dry cloth to avoid making your customers uncomfortable. Then the desserts - my cake slice was half thinner than my friend’s which ordered same. It’s disappointing, isn’t it? you pay the same price. I did ask for another slice which I am not proud of myself I did but I just had enough. Overall I was hoping it is going to become my fav local cafe, but unfortunately there is nothing I...

The waiter with the beard who prefers to stand behind the counter laughing and joking with the waitress is so rude. He gestured with his hand in a waving motion to go away when all I asked for is a napkin and some salt and pepper which the waitress didn't bother to bring. He then glared at me when he brought the cutlery and salt and pepper over. Obnoxious behaviour which is totally unacceptable.

The waitress walks around ignoring customers and I had to call her over to order even though I was sitting there for over 10 minutes with a menu. It's not as if they were that busy. Most people were there just having a coffee. I can see why it was pretty quiet at lunchtime.

The food took ages to be served. It was stone cold when it arrived. No wonder as both of them were more interested in laughing and joking with each other at the coffee station. The food smelled weird and I got diarrhoea less than 30 minutes after eating it. There was something clearly off with it. The owner needs to teach the waiter with the beard some manners as he has none. Plus his personal hygiene and appearance needs to...

Cappuccino was delicious, the gentleman who took our orders was friendly and nice, the lady who put the utensils didn't say a word to us (a simple response to our thank you would have been nice), the carbonara was lovely and creamy, the beef burger was bland for our palate, location is superb, decor is nice and cosy, has outside seating, customer toilet downstairs needs some regular checks and tidying, the floorstanding toilet roll holder was next to the toilet seat (this is not a good idea in terms of hygiene), there is service charge applied to the final bill. i may visit again. hopefully, the experience would be an easy 5 stars.

Another little gem near my neighborhood. I like to come here on Saturday mornings after a walk and sit down to do some work or readings. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I also collect stamps for a free drink. The WiFi is great, you can charger your laptops and focus on your things, and there's plenty of space to move around and enjoy some time alone or with friends. Highly recommended to go on the early morning, it is quiet:)
