All green open spaces get a 5 star rating from me, even if it does not have a children's play area, tennis courts etc. Developers are slowly stealing all our green spaces to build on because people are so ignorant about the benefits of such spaces that they allow it to happen. Japan are way ahead when it comes to the importance of natural environments and the effects they have on our health.
Tree therapy or bathing (Shinrin yoku) is the practice of walking and taking in of forests and woods. Plants release chemicals that give us a positive health boost but people opt to stay indoors playing on their mobiles, watching screen or being totally oblivious to our relationship with the natural environment. A peaceful place for a walk and a stretch - but it’s very small - and after 8-10 mins you hit the end of the park with rows of houses, so we looped back towards the car. Wouldn’t drive to go back there again - but if living within walking distance would certainly make it...
