its my 3rd time coming to kibou all 3 times i was greeted upon arrival by lulu and i’ve received the worst customer ever from lulu everytime. despite the food being amazing i doubt i will ever be coming back due to the constant attitude and hostility from this member of staff.
on my first visit lulu made it extremely hard for me to order a take away meal she was blatantly annoyed that i enquired about making an additional order to take home despite me expressing this while our sever took our initial order.
on my second visit we was again greeted by lulu the restaurant was more or less empty as we approached the entrance lulu walked away and left us at the host stand for 5 minutes although we were the only people waiting to be seated. thankfully courtney made our experience 10 times better with her amazing attention to detail and customer service skills
on my 3rd and final visit lulu had the same horrible and unapproachable attitude. she sat us at a dirty table and said “are you not gonna sit down then” when we stayed standing as the table was extremely dirty
despite this being my 3rd time eating and drinking at the restaurant lulu repeatedly id us which was no problem at first but every drink we ordered she continued asking for id and was constantly saying “are both these drinks for you” as one person was underage and was not drinking. this ultimately has ruined my experience and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. its truly a shame as this restaurant had alot...

We went on Wednesday afternoon and restaurant was pretty busy so I would definitely recommend booking a table in advance like we did! What’s nice however is that even if restaurant is busier it is somehow designed in a way that you do not feel too overwhelmed and still can enjoy food and your space. Kibou team also took a great care of us, we got water on the arrival, table was clean and ready and service overall felt very genuine, not too pushy yet they made sure we enjoy our stay!
Prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. It is genuinely flavourful! We tried, to mention just a few, Volcano Roll(iconic)/Chicken Karaage/Dynamite Cauliflower/Pork Gyoza and Kabocha Korokke. My personal favourite was definitely Grilled Salmon Gunkan, really really good! They do have lots of GF/VG/V options as well as for those who do not deal very well with seafood chicken alternatives like Chicken Ramen or Chicken Bao Buns (our friend who never eats fish approved it).
I know that the majority of people usually skip deserts but here they are really worth trying.
The area is also very chill, it is a nice escape from loud central london to enjoy cozy lunch or dinner with friends or family.
It was my first time at Kibou and I’m definitely gonna come...
Read moreWe went here asking for a table on a Wednesday afternoon (5pm), restaurant was completely empty, there was 1 table seated and the rude waiter/host at the front said “no you can’t sit down, the restaurant is full, I can’t imagine why! Sorry” turned us away and started laughing.
😂😂 the restaurant was EMPTY. We could’ve sat and ate within 25 minutes and been out! We were just 2 people. They clearly don’t know how to make business. They also had empty tables outside and could’ve offered those if the restaurant was about to fill up with 20 tables within the 2 minutes we were there. Secondly, we decided to leave and book a table for a couple days later to see what the fuss was about. We booked and we went incase we get turned away in an empty restaurant. The waitress was moody but okay. Again, restaurant had 3 tables and was empty. We sat, ordered and ate within 30 mins and left. It was super expensive and wasn’t all that.
So really to sum up, don’t waste your time as the fuss for this place is really not all that. They are acting as if they are really amazing when they are not. Appalled by the way they spoke to us and just wanted to know whether it really is worth it -...
