We (family with 2 under 5's) went here on Sunday morning around 7:45am (shortly after they opened at 7:30am) as a complete one-off for breakfast expecting to be warmly greeted and served. I had bigged it up to the kids as a big treat going out for brekkie - meanwhile there was actually a kitchen disaster the night before at home that I didn't tell them about so we couldn't have brekkie at home anyway!
Walking up to Pintus I could see the 'closed' sign on the door (so I thought maybe it didn't open until 8am but a quick Google search the night before said 7:30am so that was perfect for our plans with the early risers) - but there was a girl sitting at an outside table with a jug of water who I wasn't sure was staff or a customer. When I asked the girl working inside she said it was open. She was putting out the fruit/veg displays. I straight away felt like we were an inconvenience while the staff got the store/cafe ready. I asked what they had for breakfast for the kids and was told the pastries were still being prepared. I ordered drinks for the kids and later I got to choose pastries for them. These were really nice - fresh croissants (plain, chocolate, cream). The cups of warm milk were perfect too. Stars go for the pastries and drinks.
Also when I asked for wifi details that seemed to be a massive inconvenience again to the girl by the facial expression and reply I got. I went here a few months ago and was able to use the wifi so I don't know if they've changed things and don't readily give it out. She gave me the details on a piece of paper but the BT router didn't show up on my phone. That's ok - I din't have far to go home it was just the customer service aspect of it.
The final straw was when I asked for the bill the girl gave me the card receipt (I know this is the norm) and I then asked her for the itemised one (as I needed it for something) and she huffed like it was a big issue...
I get it - we're all humans - Sunday mornings can be tough getting up and going to work and putting on a smile-I know this from personal experience.....however if you advertise as being open at 7:30am on weekends then people expect the place to be ready to greet and serve people in a way that they deserve to be...we pay for experience, service, quality, etc. I'm keen to support small businesses and I don't want this to put us off going again but please folks take the feedback on board.
Thank you and hopefully this was just a one off bad...
Read moreOne of the worst meals of my life and horrible staff. Have eaten breakfast here before and was served by lovely staff. Today was the exact opposite. The young waiter (must have been 16) was constantly pressuring us to order our food/drinks after just sitting us down. We found it bizzare that he stood behind us staring when we said we needed more time. After ordering our food which then took half an hour to arrive (empty restaurant) my burger was cleary pre-cooked and reheated. Ive previously worked as a chef but anyone that can cook a beef burger in their kitchen would have also realised.
My burger was also sold as "with pancetta" but arrives with soggy bacon. I spoke to the manager inside about the bacon and asked to get pancetta instead, the manager was swift for me to sit back down and he will sort it out, but after 10 minutes of waiting he leaves to go for a smoke completely ignoring me.
After everyone else had finished i head inside to pay and ask to speak to the manager, but he had apparently not returned. I asked to speak to the chef after the young waiter had denied the burger was pre-cooked/re heated but there was also apparently no chef (So im unsure who had prepared my meal, probably the microwave to be honest).
I get the point across to the waiter that im not happy about my visit and he proceeds to laugh in my face. I tell the young waiter that it's not funny but he continously smirks at me. This obviously frustrates me so i pay and leave stating that my previous visits have been good but after today i wont be returning, for him to again start laughing at me as i walk out the door.
I am honestly amazed that someone could be this rude/arrogant to anyone but especially a customer of a restaurant you are working at. Utterly dissapointed.
I expect a reply for the...
Read moreOur evening started fine with drinks being good, and placing our orders - at which time the waiter asked if we wanted starters (we had only ordered mains), as they mentioned one of our orders, “would take a while”.
We agreed to order a bruschetta (which was fine, not great - basic seed bread (not toasted and a bit soggy).
After placing our mains order and waiting over an hour with no communication from the waiter on the state of our order, we could see other patrons also getting agitated with their orders not arriving, and general bad service (E.g. waiters not responding to them when raising hand, calling for service , repeatedly having to resort to shout for service.)
We asked if our food could come in the next 5 minutes (by this stage it had been approximately 1.25 hours since mains ordered - no communication from waiter), did not get any reaction or follow up from our waiter other than saying, “okay”.
After giving another 5 minutes for any communication from waiter / manager and hearing nothing we went to the counter to pay for our drinks and starter. By this time the person behind the til said our wood was, “coming soon” - the first time we had any update on our mains!
We paid and left having mentioned communication to us was non-existent, and after having asked for an update on our order was faced with no response.
Service is unacceptable - no explanation given to us as to why we had to wait over an hour for 2 mains orders - with no update given to us over the course of...
