KYR KITCHEN — Restaurant in London

I hate to leave a bad review but I think this maybe the only way to give constructive criticism as Iv tried to DM their instagram and got no response.

I was really exited about this place and I really want to continue supporting black businesses and bonus for me... ITS LOCAL, so I couldn't have been more excited. However I find it very hard to bring my money back here especially with the lack of attention to feedback and customer service.

I got a prawn and lobster tail seafood boil and was highly disappointed. Everything was blend. It wasn't boiled down in any seasoning, there was minimal sauce and the sauce tasted like the salty water the prawns were boiled in. I got home and had to make my own spicy butter sauce because what I received was practically water. Also got fries and they were soggy and burnt. You guys have so much potential because I can SEE the vision but tasting that exact food needs to be the same quality.

I expected this food to be made with live and I want to give it a second chance but I'm finding it hard especially with the lack of response to improvement. You guys deserve 5 stars! Please sort this out especially under Caribbean representation, flavour up...

First the Pros: The chicken and the mac was well seasoned and the Hawaiian BBQ sauce is tasty. Also kinda positive: Considering this was cooked by two kids (young adults) in a shipping container - it’s pretty good! Unfortunately that’s not communicated though and doesn’t show in the price either. I can only hope these two hero’s (no really they work really really hard!) get payed a decent wage. If I consider the price and the advertisement the food is unfortunately sub par. The pasta is way overcooked the lobster tail was chewy and the waffles are the Belgium waffles you can buy for a fraction of the price at Aldi or Lidl (pardon me I forgot which one it was). How do I know that? I saw the packaging when I picked my food up. I also need to remind the owners/ cooks: please do not defrost chicken in a sink full of water.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Please do not waste your money on this place that doesn’t cook their food fresh. I have an upset stomach and feel absolutely traumatized. I feel like i will never eat seafood ever again. I keep thinking about how salty, unpleasant and disgusting the crab was. It was definitely not fresh at all. Dirty salty water flooded out the shell, meat tasted like it was chewy as if it had just been defrosted and cooked. I am trying to keep my vomit down as I have a fear of throwing up. This is definitely a new ick unlocked. You know when you have that one thought that will make you feel instantly sick. This is my new one. Please save your money, and travel for good seafood boil. Not this open up shop that’s destiny to close or be shut down soon. Terrible...
